this is a neat book with some great pictures. unfortunately there is two different paths of forms for taekwon do. this one has the forms: Saju Jirugi, Saju Makgi, Chon-ji Tul, Dan-gun Tul, Do-san Tul, Won-Hyo Tul, Yul-Gok Tul, Joong-Gun Tul, Toi-Gye Tul, Hwa-Rang Tul, and Choong-Moo Tul. and with each form it has pictures describing the practibility of each move. I found this book as a good guid line for when I am learning a new patern with my instructors and a good refreshers when i am practicing and can not remember the simplest thing. As a whole i do not think learning any martial art from a book works with out an instructor to lay down the little things that books do not cover like proper position and hip movements, but i liked this book

The martial art of Taekwon-Do was initially developed by the Korean military in the 1950s and spread internationally with the formation of the International Taekwon-Do Federation [ITF] in 1966. Taekwon-Do has continued to develop and it is now one of the most popular martial arts, with around eight million students worldwide and perhaps best known for its spectacular kicking and power demonstrations. In this highly practical and informative book, Master Hogan draws on his vast experience to give unique insights into the performance and application of the first nine patterns (tul) that Taekwon-Do students must master to obtain the rank of 1st degree black belt.
