Mason Vitamins Calcium Citrate 1,500 mg with Vitamin D Caplet, 60-Count Bottles (Pack of 3) Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)1500mg isn't how much Calcium they have, it's how much the silly, overpriced tablets weigh.
On the label, in fine print, it explains that "Each 1500mg caplet [...] provides 315mg of elemental Calcium."
That, the label explains, is 32% of your "Daily Value." You need three a day. Three, 60-count bottles is a 60-day supply, for $13.
$14 gets you 500, Kirkland, Calcium+D tabs, honestly labelled as 600mg (yep, 600mg of Calcium), which is 60% of the recommended daily dose. Taking two tabs a day will give you more Calcium than taking three Mason tabs, and the bottle will still last you a little over four times as long as the three Mason bottles put together. Yargh.
Slashing the price from $13/3 to $3/3 would make it price-competitive.
And that's Amazon prices. The Costco price is $8.
Even if you don't shun Mason for their slimy "1500mg" labeling, This product is almost ten times as expensive, per mg., as buying Kirkland tabs from Costco. Ugh.
Oh -- wait. You're convinced you need Calcium citrate, and the Costco tabs are Calcium carbonate. Okay, Costco sells 500mg Kirkland Calcium citrate tablets at $7/300. Same thing from Amazon? Still only $20/300.
Don't buy this product.
