(More customer reviews)I was skeptical that this lightweight ankle brace would be able to provide enough support for me to play soccer in it, but I've been very impressed with it so far. I've hated other ankle braces I've had in the past because they restricted motion to the point where I couldn't run without sort of dragging my foot along. This brace provides the right amount of support and keeps you from rolling your ankle under you, but you will be able to move your foot up and down with no problem. Its so comfortable and lightweight, and I especially like that it only has parts in places where it needs to have parts. Its not like wearing a giant heavy sock like other braces, especially the lace-up variety. I would defintely buy this brace again.

McDavid Lightweight Ankle Brace Review

(More customer reviews)I sprained my ankle playing basketball about 8 months ago. It healed pretty quickly and I started using an old ankle brace that I have. Then I had a doozy of a sprain on the same ankle about a month ago... WITH THE OLD BRACE ON. I didn't think that could happen. Somehow I hurt ligaments and tendons on both sides of the ankle, high and low. X-rays showed no breaks though. I'm just now starting to play again. I bought this McDavid Lightweight model and have been very impressed with it. It's a sturdy material that gives a lot more support than my old brace. And it has the steel stays for even more support. It doesn't feel like it hurts my "quickness" any more than the old brace did. It pretty much keeps the ankle from turning but allows you to extend it without too much resistance. It's a quality brace.

After suffering with ankle and foot pains for two months stemming from a running injury, I bought this in the hopes I would at least be able to avoid going to a doctor so he/she could tell me I needed a foot brace and medicine. After a month of use, my pain is all but gone. Can't recommend enough.
I look forward to putting it on every morning at this point. It's that comfortable. Easy to clean and good looking enough to wear with shorts, it has fit seamlessly into my life. The only negative thing of note is obvious: though it will fit in your shoes, chances are that it will stretch out the heel a bit. With extended use, you will probably want a new, snug pair of sneakers when you're done.

I've purchased other mueller products in the past and have always been satisfied. I like the appearance and the concept, I just think it was too big to be just a size large. I'm a 9.5 wide shoe and it was still too loose to be effective.

(More customer reviews)I twisted my ankle in 2004 and it still haunts me today. I have bought many different ankle support wraps or braces. Some are either too tight or too loose around my ankle and all of them are bulky which made it very difficult for me to wear it with my shoes. This Mueller support is great! It's very light and comfortable plus the genius straps design allows you to adjust the tightness for support. The best thing is that I can wear it with my shoes! Pls note that the support is not that strong so you can't really do intensive/vigorous sports wearing it. Other than that, it's a great support to get for daily usage, light/medium exercise at the gym, and it fits in your shoes without any discomfort or bulkiness. I'll buy another one now just as a backup.

(More customer reviews)I recently severely sprained and dislocated my ankle. After coming out of my air cast I used this brace. It is lightweight, but provides excellent arch and lateral support with the criss-cross straps. The Velcro is strong and works well time and time again. The adjustable straps are key - I have very narrow feet and ankles and could make this fit me well. There are extra supports on the sides to support lateral movements, but they are thin enough to fit into most sneakers and flats (and of course, flip flops). It wil fit with or withou a sock underneath, but does get a litte sweaty in there without one. It definitely has an odor blocker and antimicrobial material, and dries quickly. I continue wearing it with extra activities. It is a great product!

Since I had started to have ankle injuries just over a year ago, I studied reviews, asked friends for advice and tried several kinds of ankle braces. This Mueller soccer ankle brace is by far the best one I tried. I already purchased my 3rd one (each lasted at least 6 months). It interferes little with ball control and still provides enough support to avoid re-injury. I like how snug this brace is, fitting the same soccer shoes I used without braces. This brace has never caused any abrasions when put over a sock. It takes a few minutes to lace it up snugly, but this is worth the time. This brace is suitable for a recently healed or soon-to-be-healed ankle, but may not protect the badly injured one (then you should not play anyway). Those who are not convinced that this is is an excellent soccer brace from just a few reviews on this site should also read reviews at soccer dot com website. As of the moment the rating there is 4.5 stars based on 21 reviews. Make sure it is correct size (when in doubt, go one size less). Here is a sizing chart: XXS: (Men's 4-5, Women's 5-6), XS: (Men's 6-7, Women's 7-8), S: (Men's 7-9, Women's 8-10), M: (Men's 9-11, Women's 10-12), L (Men's 11-13, Women's 12-14), XL (Men's 13-15, Women's 14-16). I also tried these two other braces, and found them not as good (more bulky and may cause abrasions): McDavid Ankle with Strap and Swede-O Ankle Lok Lace-Up Ankle Brace (with set of side stabilizer inserts).
