I originally bought these at a drugstore. They lasted a good 7 or 8 months, really feel like they cushion your step. I used them in my work boots and wore almost every day. The problem is you can't get them from this seller. I recently ordered a bunch of replacements because they are so great, only to receive the two toned profoot blue model. Now the blue inserts aren't bad, they just aren't as cushioning as the gray inserts. This seller (justotc) shows you the gray model then sends the blue. If you can find the gray ProFoot at another seller, try to buy them. If you want the blue inserts, other sellers (including Amazon) sell for less. The star rating for the inserts is 5. I give the seller a 1.

Profoot Care Goodnight Bunion 1 ea Review

First off, I have to face the fact that at present, there seems to be no perfect bunion, toe-straightener gizmo on the market. This particular product is really inexpensive. You even get two in the package. Do not expect them to look like the picture on the front which is more of the style of the Footsmart one. No, these are made of cheaper plastic. I've tried the Footsmart one. It has it's good points and it's bad points just like this cheaper one. I did think the foam around the big toe on the expensive Footsmart one came off WAY faster than it should have, but of course, I do own glue and could fix that.
These cheaper plastic ones hold my toe in the correct alignment more securely, but, even though you are not supposed to walk around with any of these types of splints on, lets face it: you have to. No one is going to dismantle the thing to get up for the bathroom or to let the cat out. One time I snapped the bottom piece off of one of these cheap splints because I was not hobbling around carefully enough. This will likely never happen with the Footsmart one, because the plastic is a little more flexible, but again, it does not hold the toe in alignment as securely, because of the flexibility of the plastic.
All of the splints I have ever used required me to jury-rig some extra padding around my foot with whatever foam and soft things I can find around the house because they cut into your skin something awful. I also had my foot fall asleep once or twice for having one on too tight - slightly disconcerting.
All in all, when you need to get your toe shoved into the proper position for an extended period, either in the hopes that perhaps your toe will eventually train itself to align a bit more correctly, or because of the simple pain relief it sometimes can give to your bunion, these splints do the job, albeit not so perfectly. At least someone in China or somewhere else realized it should not cost an arm and a leg for a tiny bit of plastic and velcro.
