(More customer reviews)I got this to travel with, as it fits in a carry-on suitcase better than my old trusty Thermaphore moist heating pad with a deadman's switch. This one has a timed switch and temperature control which, in principle may be a bit safer and adjustable than the deadman's switch (which is either on or off, and has to be held in the ON position to keep ON). However, the control is not all that intuitive for startup, as one has to set the heat to zero before re-starting. Once you get used to it, though, it is no big deal, and the product worked well in motels. The electrical cord was, thankfully, long enough to reach from the wall outlet to the bed without need of the extension cord that I packed. For home use, I would recommend the larger size for full lower back coverage.
