(More customer reviews)This is a safe product that does not rely on a stimulant such as Biscodyl to work. It is a suppository that draws water into your [...] and somehow creates an urge to "go". While I don't know all the scientific or medical facts behind it, I do know it is a safe product to use every day (every 24 hours). I deal with occasion constipation due to medications and a slower GI tract, I find this product a breeze to use and actually very effective. Even though I try to drink enough water and add fiber to my diet, sometimes the medications are to blame.
I would recommend a non-latex, nitrile glove such as SAFESKIN® Purple Nitrile Exam Gloves, Beaded Cuff, Large, Purple (KIM55083) Category: Disposable Miscellaneous Gloves to make the insertion of the suppository safer and easier. You can also wet the suppository to ease insertion. Using gloves just makes the process easier and more hygienic. The farther you can insert the suppository into the [...], the better off you will be. It may not melt entirely ... but that doesn't matter. The glycerin will still take effect.
I find that the product takes it's effect within 15 minutes. I feel comfortable using it because I know that it is safe and does not contain stimulants that could make me become dependent on them. They are affordable, easy to use (once you get the hang of it) and predictable.
