The characters in 360 Degrees are so real that you think you know them. The author captures your attention from the first page. The main character, Thandisha is very human and the tragedy in her life makes you want to pray for her in your nightly prayers. The author is creative in the way she presents the delemna which left me gasping for air. Then she allows you to experience Thandisha's experiences because she is very detailed in the character development. This is going to be a best seller!!!

At the age of 12, Thandisha's mother was murdered. The unexpected loss of a mother is a tragedy within itself but even more so for Thandisha. The perpetrator is her father whom Thandisha adores. Thandisha and her younger brother, Khalid, are placed in the care of Thelma, their maternal grandmother and Aunt Mary, Thelma's long time companion. Thelma is stuck at the anger stage of her grief process and cannot create a healthy environment for Thandisha to grieve. In fact, the family simply refers to the tragedy as "That Day."It is not until Thandisha's unresolved trauma takes her on a spiral decline to teenage motherhood, live in girlfriend, and crack cocaine addict that she is forced to go back 360 degrees to "That Day" and actually give the tragedy the appropriate and complete name "The day my father killed my mother." Thandisha's process is written in such detail that you will feel every pain and every triumph in her quest to complete 360 Degrees.
