I read the book with my 9 year old daughter and she absolutely loved it! I thought it was written very well, especially for the targeted audience. My daughter was able to follow the story line and the characters and is now asking me, what happened to the kids when they went on their adventure. Since it is a 2 volume book, I told her we would have to wait until the author published the second part. We are anxiously waiting for the follow-up. Great book, Great job by the author.

Eight year old Brookie Jones is in a world of her own-her emotions are up and down with no clear understanding of what's to come. She doesn't fit in at school and she doesn't care too much about home. Her only friends are nice one day and bully's the next. There is much more to Brookie's issues that meet the eye and people only start to notice after a startling incident in school. Once she let's go of her bleak friendships she'll be able to see things in a more clear and positive way. Only with help from her parents and teacher will Brookie start to make sense of this world we live in.
