I play a lot of sports, and this came in very handy when one of my teammates came down with an injury to his ankle. It kept the swelling down until he could get to the emergency room. I'm going to buy a few of these.

Mueller Cold/hot Wrap, Elastic, Black, One Size Review

I have this for tendonitis in my elbow. It is ok, but not very comfortable. The material is pinchy and scratchy. It is ok for a quick fix, but not for long term issues. If you have chronic pain and need to ice your elbow for weeks or months - keep looking for something more comfortable.

ChillowPlus Comfort Device 1 ea Review

I was really excited to get one of these, as I've been suffering through the never ending menopause. The Chillow works, in that, it has a nice, cool surface. It very much cools me down when I first lie down on it. However, these are the negatives.
-It's bulky and heavy and very hard to get situated. It's so heavy, in fact, that it squishes my pillows down too flat.
- If you put it inside a pillow case (atop a pillow) it won't stay in place. If you use it outside the pillow, well, you're lying on plastic -- which just made me sweat.
- it got very very warm during the night. Not just "no longer cool", but nearly what I'd call HOT.I awoke with the sensation of lying on a heating pad.
-the pad bunches up inside the plastic case. I've only had it 1 1/2 weeks.
-the smell has faded some, but there is still a strong plastic smell. Heck, I smell like plastic after I wake up!!
So really, I found it useful to help get to sleep, but when I woke up during the night, (sometimes after only 2 hours) I was lying on a hot, wrinkly, heavy lump of soggy plastic. I'll take the hot flashes, thanks anyway.

ACE Reusable Cold Compress Review

ACE Reusable Cold Compress

Every night I do three miles on my treadmill and due to arthritis and bone spurs in my feet and a torn disc in my back I always have to apply ice to those areas afterward. Over the years I was forced to use those "clear-plastic-gel-like" compresses. The problem with those type products are 1) you have to (and are warned on the product) to wrap in a towel to apply. 2) They have a rather short life cycle before the "icky" gooey gel starts leaking on your towel... on you... on your furniture.
When a friend of mine found this brand for me... I can't tell you how many drug stores I went to, that not only didn't have them... but acted like I was from another planet when I asked for them. My friend lives in another city and would buy them for me and have to ship them to me. These cold compresses are provided encased in a strong "fabric-like-material", hence I nicknamed them "INDUSTRIAL-STRENGTH" COLD COMPRESSES. You do not need to wrap in a towel. You apply them directly to the required area. Though they too eventually wear out, they last much longer and feel more comfortable. I recommend them head and shoulders above the garden variety "plastic-like" cold-compresses of yester-year.

IMAK Eye Mask, Pain Relief 1 ea Review

IMAK Eye Mask, Pain Relief 1 ea

I purchased this mask (or one just like it) years ago. Unfortunately, my dog "ate" it and I haven't been able to find anything like it since...until now. This is the best mask for easing my migraine suffering. I've tried other masks since losing my first one, but none come close to providing the relief this mask does. The weight provides perfect pressure to cheeks, forehead and around the eyes. Light is completely blocked. I wouldn't recommend it as a sleeping mask, as it won't stay put when rolling over. I highly recommend it for headache sufferers, though.
