Pill Box Mediplanner II Large Review

Pill Box Mediplanner II Large
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For Several years, I had been using the Deluxe Medtime Planner.
I fill 4 or 5 of them on a monthly basis. I find myself holding the DMP covers together with shipping tape after the first or second use.
I have not had to tape together the Mediplanner II top yet after a year's use, so I have purchased more to take the place of the Medtimes.
I am also testing out the Large Medi-Chest which allows you to carry just the daily case instead of the entire week with you. The daily case appears to be made of the same tough plastic as the MediPlanner II, however, the weekly containing case is made of brittle polystyrene, so I may end up with a bunch of daily cases without any weekly case to store them in!
************************************************************************
As of 2007, after 1 1/2 years of testing, I now prefer the large Medi-Chest. Nothing has broken on any of the 5 units and the removable daily case is great for making day trips or going out hunting, fishing or golfing.

Weekly Four Times a Day Practidose Medication Organizer - Oversize Pill Dispenser Review

Weekly Four Times a Day Practidose Medication Organizer - Oversize Pill Dispenser
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After searching for a pill minder to fit a weekly 4-times a day medication/supplement "habit", I came across this one at the local Walgreens. Pros: all, and I mean ALL of my pills fit nicely into the roomy slots. The clear sliding access panels "locked" and were easy to view contents. The Cons: The pill tray is one unit, so no sliding just one days' pills in your pocket to take with you. With the single long plastic panel per days' pills, if you skip a earlier dose, trying to retrieve JUST the next dose without spilling the previous one is irksome and difficult.
I wish they would make a 7 day, 4-times a day pill minder that had compartments approximately 2 x 2 inches AND also a days' worth of pills were in a removable pillminder.

XL Ultra Bubble-lok 7-day Pill Organizer - Extra Large Review

XL Ultra Bubble-lok 7-day Pill Organizer - Extra Large

I ordered 3 of these items. They work fine, but were a little larger than I had hoped, but that's a small thing. My main criticism of this product is that the clasps keeping each compartment closed are really tough to open. It's a good thing, too, however, since the compartments won't pop open as a previous smaller "bubble" version did.

GOOD AND STURDY BUILT UNLIKE SOME THE THE CHEAPERS ONES THAT HAVE 4 SLOTS FOR ONE DAY. I WILL SAY HOWEVER THE PRINT ON THEM IS NOT GOOD AS IN A LITTLE OVER A MONTH THE LETTERING IS COMING OFF ALREADY BUT EASILY FIXED WITH A SHARPIE MARKER.

Apex MediChest, 1 each (Pack of 2) Review

Apex MediChest, 1 each (Pack of 2)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
When my doctor added a couple of supplements to my daily regiment of meds, I had to find a bigger dispenser. I had been using the Med Sun Green 7 Day 4 Dose Pill Organizer with which I had been very satisfied. I ordered this two-pack hoping that I could get by with one, but not knowing because there wasn't any capacity information in the product description. I was able to put six-seven medium-sized capsules in each compartment (so 24-28 capsules per day). However, I also needed two larger capsules (fish oil, calcium), along with some smaller caplets (Vitamin D3), so both sets were needed. The compartments can store only 2-3 medium capsules if there are also two larger tablets.
The dispensers open nicely and fit snugly in the plastic "base station". The one complaint I have is that I was accustomed to Morn-Noon-Eve-Bed partitions being left-to-right and these are the opposite of that. They're clearly labeled, so it's not a big problem. But it did require an adjustment to my weekly refill procedure (since the labels aren't as easy to see when the lids are open). All in all, I'm very happy with this dispenser.

Tab Tote Classic Monthly Pill Organizer and Dispenser Review

Tab Tote Classic Monthly Pill Organizer and Dispenser
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My wife avoids refilling her 7 day pill container. This one has 32 compartments and it lasts her 4 times as long so she doesn't have to be bothered with refilling it every week. When using it, the thing spins clockwise revealing the contents of each compartment. It does not spin counterclockwise unless you unlock it in the center; this prevents you from accidentially taking the last day's pills instead of the next day's pills. Very sturdy. sits upright and comes apart for easy refilling.

Four-a-day, Weekly, One Day At a Time, Medication Organizer - Large Review

Four-a-day, Weekly, One Day At a Time, Medication Organizer - Large
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ezy dose and Amazon made this easy. You'd think buying a pill organizer would be simple, yet for my needs, none of the normal stores had what I needed (not Wal-Mart, Target, food stores, drug stores). And in this case, size does matter! If your pill case is too small to hold the medications you need, it is worthless (size here is often measured by the number of standard aspirin tablets that can fit in each compartment). Then there are factors like how many compartments per day (morning, noon, afternoon, before bed), whether or not the individual day compartments can be withdrawn from the master tray (for portability, convenience), how easy they are to open, whether or not you can see through them, perhaps even what color they are! The result was precisely what I needed.

Medready Extra Pill Box Case with Lid Review

Medready Extra Pill Box Case with Lid
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It does what is needed to solve the immediate problem and my dad has been able to use it successfully, three times per day. Sometimes, some of the pills go flying when he tries to get them out of the slot. His fingers are a little wider than average, I think. Also, based on the materials and how things fit together, over $200 seems a little on the high side.

MediChest Large With 28 Pill Compartments 9-5/16" W x 6-3/4" H x 1-1/8" D Review

MediChest Large With 28 Pill Compartments 9-5/16 W x 6-3/4 H x 1-1/8 D
Average Reviews:

The compartments are nice and big, which was primarily what I was looking for. I take a pretty complete vitamin regemin, including thrice-a-day Flaxseed and CLA, which are very large pills. This lets me carry a full days pills in one, compartamentalized container without a problem. My only gripes are that the closure is very minimal, resulting in open compartments in my pockets sometimes, and that I had to pay as much to ship the darn thing as I did to buy it.

i like it except for the fact that the pill compartments are a little too small for some larger pills and gel capsules. for some people it could be a little awkward to use because the compartments are small, and you may have to turn it upside down to get the pills out. my hands are large and i can't pick out individual pills from a compartment.

Apex Clear Mediplanner II Review

Apex Clear Mediplanner II
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Great product, except the description did not include size of the Mediplanner II. Would have given 5 stars, if it had. For your info the size is 8.25" by 5.5" by 1.125". Each individual pill space is approximately a cube with each side measuring 1.125". Much larger than the 4-times-per-day weekly pill box I had before. Ran out of room in that box when I started adding supplements in addition to my meds. When I ordered it, I just guessed and hoped it would be larger based on the number of pills another reviewer said they used. I'm glad I guessed right. It's a very nice pill box. Be sure to let it warm up in your house before opening... if it arrives and is left outside in the cold, the plastic might break when you open it up to fill. That's said on the product instructions, but I just thought I'd give you a heads up, if you live in a cold part of the country like I do. Hope this helps. -Rick

Medi-Chest - Pill Organizer Dispenser Planner by Apex Healthcare Products Review

Medi-Chest - Pill Organizer Dispenser Planner by Apex Healthcare Products
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As of 2009, after 4 years of testing, I continue to prefer the LARGE Medi-Chest. Nothing has broken on any of the 5 units and the removable daily case is great for making day trips or going out hunting, fishing, canoing, or golfing.
These have met the test! They still snap shut tightly and no compartments have lost their tops due to stress fatigue from opening and closing them.
Just as importantly, I can carry my plethora of cardiac, kidney, prostate and arthritis medications in one daily container when I go golfing, fishing, hunting or canoing. If a compartment does just happen to open, it sure beats trying to pick up a week's worth of meds from the golf course and put them back in the right compartments!
2009 NOTE: I ordered two more units FROM AMAZON so we can travel more than a month at a time.

MedCenter Monthly Vitamin Organizer with Large Pill Boxes Review

MedCenter Monthly Vitamin Organizer with Large Pill Boxes
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I take a lot of medications for multiple sclerosis at intervals of 4 times per day. When I saw this behemoth of a pillbox, I was curious and had to explore it more and read about it. I took the plunge and ordered one since I have problems with short term memory and sometimes forget if I have taken medications or not. This box leaves no room for wondering.
It's LARGE. But it's worth every inch of the space. Take the time once a month to fill it up (or fill it up weekly) and you will be all set. If you have a partner to help you, all the better.
What a great invention. Green means "go" (the pillbox is ready) and red means "empty". Simple and ingenious.
This works great for me.

Apex Medi Tray, 4 Times Per Day, 7 Days Per Week Review

Apex Medi Tray, 4 Times Per Day, 7 Days Per Week
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is exactly the right size for me for the amount of medications I ever expect to take. At first, I had trouble getting the compartments to open.
The problem is that by pressing your finger or thumb against the side of the box to slide up to catch the edge of the lid where it sticks out for opening, you are pressing in on the side keeping the little projection on the lid that holds it shut from popping out of the little depression inside that it needs to pop out of. Sorry that I can't describe that better.
The manufacturer tries to guide you around this by having an arrow and the word "LIFT" imprinted on the _corner_ of the lid to direct you away from putting pressure on the middle of the side and blocking your own efforts. If you limit your contact to the end or corner of the lifting tab it works fine.
Some "hot rodding" suggestions for those of you who want to improve your pill cases. First, when it's time to reload, I just twist the entire four compartment section to get all four to open at once. Then I make sure all the lids are exactly straight up. That way, when I put it back in the base, its lids don't block the next compartments over. With all 28 compartments open I can load up a week surprisingly fast.
Additional loading suggestions. Have any simple med/large pair of tweezers handy. Pills sometimes bounce out of one compartment to another.
Fastest loading, I've found, is to either get a small round bottom cup or use the palm of your hand. Pour a little more than the amount of pills you expect to need into it. Then hold that next to each compartment as you go by. Going back and forth to piles of pills to the side turns out to be the most time consuming part of the operation. Take the pills to the boxes.
Since I plan for accidents, I put a convenient size rubber band going around the length of each days set. When they are in the storage base, I put it around horizontally just under the lids so it doesn't get in the way of putting the loaded set of boxes back into the base.
When I take the day's set out for bedside or to go with me away from home, I move the rubber band around to cover the open sides of the lids about 6mm/quarter inch in from the open side. This gives a sort of "spring loaded" effect to the lids. If I drop the box on the floor, everything stays inside. But it's easy to hold the lid open against the pressure of the band.
When a day is empty, I leave the band vertical and wedge the box back in the base. That makes it easy to separate the used from the ready to go. (I confuse easy.) If you need to separate some boxes from others, I would suggest coloring the _INSIDE_ of the lids with permanent markers in different colors. That way the colors won't wipe off as easily.
Good luck, three more will let me do a month at a time. I've been wanting this for a long time.

Ezy Dose Monthly Pill Organizer and Reminder Review

Ezy Dose Monthly Pill Organizer and Reminder
Average Reviews:

When I first received this pill organizer, I too had problems with the lids closing. But after using it for a while, I realized I didn't have the lids (which are really just one piece!) lined up correctly. Once I figured out how to line up the lid and click the individual lids closed, no problem.
It saves a HUGE amount of time -- fill it once a month and you're finished.
It's easy to travel with -- it's a fairly compact organizer.
I gave it 5 stars -- and I'm a tough grader.

7 Day Pill Pack - Medicine Organizer Dispenser Review

7 Day Pill Pack - Medicine Organizer Dispenser
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I take several pills, three times a day and my old 7-day organizer simply wasn't big enough to hold my meds and vitamins. I'm so pleased with this pill box organizer. In just the "Morning" section, it can easily hold a large calcium tab, a large fish oil capsule, an extra large potassium tablet, as well as three other pills. Everything fits, yet the item is so compact it doesn't take up a lot of space. The only (minor) complaint is that the first time I opened the plastic tops they were a little hard to open. But once I got them all open, the hinges loosened and they all open and shut easily now. This is really a convenient product!
