(More customer reviews)PROS: It works, and in case your wondering, it tastes super yummy--for real, I tried it.
If you have children that routinely run away and hide from you like your a monster from Day of the Living Dead when you approach them with a teaspoon of medicine AND
your pharmacy doesn't offer Flavor X, this spray is for you!
Upon recently switching to a more convenient, local, and reputable pharmacy, I experienced the shock and awe of learning they did not offer Flavor X when filling kid's meds!!
(For those who don't know: Flavor X is a super-yummy additive in a variety of flavors like strawberry, bubble-gum, grape, etc. that only pharmacists can add to prescription medicines.) It makes life A LOT easier for parents of kids who have to take meds often.
After hinting, requesting, and nudging my new pharmacy didn't help, I searched online and found Amazon sells this spray, made by the same Flavor X manufacturer!
Although it is a bit pricey, the flavor is EXACTLY the same as the pharmacy-type Flavor X. These people have flavoring down to a science.
I sprayed some in my mouth from a distance and it is soooo good.
It works--I no longer had to chase down my lil' one. Having the kooky Yo Gabba Gabba crew featured on the front didn't hurt matters either--my kid trusted their familiar faces and allowed me to spray it into his mouth without hesitation.
Tip: Spray Before and After:
After spraying it in after the meds a few times, I decided to read the directions (when all else fails...) and realized that it works much better if you spray it in once BEFORE your child takes the meds and then a few times after:
Spraying the tongue before lays down a layer of yum before the yuck of the meds has a chance to set in and stick to the tongue. Then, after the meds do another shot or two of yum again to finish it off.
Furthermore, I experimented with spraying it onto the spoon of a particularly horrid smelling medicine, and that helped, too, according to my lil' guy.
Though it seems pricey for the small spray, I believe adding it at the pharmacy costs at least 4-5 dollars extra per med added, and the spray lasted us through several rounds of antibiotics over the course of several months (bad tonsils).
Cons: The bottle is too small!!! They claim like over a hundred uses, but let's get real--it takes more than one spray to get rid of super yucky meds. Count on this lasting you through a few rounds of antibiotics, which equals the price at the pharmacy, so its a good deal if your pharmacy won't add it.
