I'd highly recommend this product for its ease of use/reliability. I worked in a medical lab for over 20 years, but even if I hadn't this test was simple to perform. Excellent instructions, with a very informative booklet. The test consists of one test square, the equipment to perform a simple fingerstick (didn't hurt), and even a Band-Aid. You have to send it out to a lab through the mail. But it takes 10 days to find out your results. Anyone who's ever had multiple sex partners or worked around patients with blood products should get one of these tests. The only drawback for me is the price. If you have medical insurance, I'd definitely go through your physician. If not, this would be the way to go.

Exposure to the hepatitis C virus occurs when a person comes into direct contact with the infected blood of another person. Can Hepatitis C be Treated? Yes. Detection of hepatitis C before serious damage had occurred, can lead to appropriate treatment and management. Who Should Test? Over 4 million people in the United States are infected. Experts agree it is important to be tested if you may have been exposed to the hepatitis C virus through blood transfusion prior to July 1992, a contaminated needle, or other possible exposure to infected blood or other bodily fluids.
