I have suffered from allergies my entire life. When Allegra was first available as a prescription, I was very skeptical because I had tried everything and nothing worked. When I got on Allegra, my suffering diminished significantly.
Also, when it was a prescription it was about $100 a month with a co-pay of about $35 bucks a month. When Clariton and Zertec became available OTC (which do not work for me), the insurance company refused to cover Allegra because there were several "alternatives" available without a prescription. Because I didn't want to suffer, I continued to buy Allegra without insurance and used it sparingly only during the worst months of the year.
Now that it's OTC, I am so happy. I just bought the 45 day for $25 bucks and I cannot tell you how this is going to improve my life. It's the exact same pink pill with the "e" sketched onto it as before. Same strength of 180mg. I realize that Clairton and Zertec are generic now and you can get 30 days for less than $5 bucks, but if they don't work for you, buy Allegra. You won't be sorry you did.
