Thermophore Arthritis Pad Review

(More customer reviews)This is our second Thermophore 14 x 27, first one lasted about ten years or so, and we liked it enough to replace right away.
With temperatures up around 165 degrees, this will get in deep to your muscles and joints. A few rounds of 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off will work wonders.
One of the best features is that this pad is weighted all over with many flat metal weights that make it conform to your body for great contact and heat transfer.
Use with caution and read the instruction manual for warnings. See the Thermophore web site for more details.
Seems a bit expensive compared to standard heating pads, but it's in a class by itself and worth the investment.
Note, Don't be confused by the "Automatic" wording, it has a hand operated normally OFF switch. The Automatic refers to the moist heat since you don't have to wet it at all.
They now make the same unit with an automatic timer shut off switch if you might like that better than the manual switch that this one has. This one you have to hold the switch down to keep it hot, that way if you doze off it shuts it off.
The other is called "Automatic" with "Automatic switch"
BTW, the shipping service by 'The Therapy Connection at HPMS, Inc' was outstanding and it arrived in just a few days time. I'm sure that can vary, but my order shipped fast!

Conair Heating Pad Moist/Dry King Size Review

(More customer reviews)This heating pad has worked great for me in the 2 months I've had it. I have an achy back and I lie on the pad to help me go to sleep at night. (Yes, I know you're not supposed to do that!) The medium setting is perfect-- hot enough to work on my back but not so hot that it's dangerous to sleep on. The auto-shutoff works fine and it would be hard to accidentally change the settings on the control. I haven't tried the moist heat. If you want a flexible pad to wrap around your arm or leg, this would not be the one to buy as the pad is fairly stiff. This works to my advantage, as the previous soft pad I used would wrinkle and bunch up. For what I use it for, this pad is perfect!

Sunbeam 885-000 Renue? Heat Therapy Neck and Shoulder Wrap, Green Review

(More customer reviews)It's soft which is just wonderful with the heat. It has a detachable cord so that you can wash the whole thing in the washer. Much improved design over the "removable cover" which always meant for me a struggle to keep the "cover" on the stupid heat pad. Pros:
Soft, fully washable- in machine, 4 settings with light (light off- it's off), and magnet to secure on front, also weighted around the edges to help with secure feeling.
Cons:
Neck opening not too generous. Given the weighting, it's ok to leave it "un-snapped" (not attach magnet) and still feel secure. The plug connection is right over the chest and can get in the way. Looking at other models on the market, seems a common problem. Don't know why they can't put the output at a location that isn't in the way, but oh well.
Small picture discrepancy:
The back looks nothing like the picture- perfectly fitting. It clumps up a bit but that doesn't detract from it at all. Just thought I'd share that.
Fully endore product. I'm buying one for my mom this xmas.

Herbal Concepts Fan Shoulder Review

(More customer reviews)The item is nice & heavy. Feels pretty good laying on the pad, after heating it especially. The one thing I don't like is the scent, very strong unheated, even stronger after heating it. I got it for the wife, but both me & the puppy have to smell it unless we leave the room.
It is authentic lavender smell, but personally I don't like lavender smell. For $20, it's not bad. Good material, good quality item.

(More customer reviews)I've been wanting one of these for awhile, but I felt like they were over-priced. Amazon had this on sale at a price I just couldn't pass up, about five bucks. So the scent is definately strong, but it's a nice strong and feels very therapeutic and relaxing. The black cover is soft and velveety feeling, actually much nicer than some similar pacs I've seen for much more money. It's easy to use and stays warm for as long as I need it. I keep it in a big ziploc bag so it retains it's herbal scent and properties.
I just wish I had bought a few more for gifts.

I gave it 5 stars because my husband took mine and won't give it back. So I had to buy another one. I don't know what that fabric is called but I wish I had a whole blanket made out of it. Well, then I would have to have it lined with the herbs because I love that smell. I see the booties on the site, so that will probably be what I get next.

McDavid Shoulder Support with Strap Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this shoulder support after I strained my shoulder playing sports. I was hoping it would help limit my shoulder movement and allow my shoulder to heal. However, because the support is so bulky, it would not allow my arm to hang flush to my body. This actually caused my shoulder to ache continuously, which was extremely uncomfortable and defeated the purpose of wearing the support.
Pros:
-Inexpensive compared to other options
-Easy to put on (with someone's help)
-Provides good support vs. taping or wrapping
-Immobilizing strap attachment provides additional support
Cons:
-Bulky and bunches up under your arm
-Holds your arm in unnatural hanging position
-Pretty much impossible to put on by yourself
-Very difficult to adjust without assistance if you have to wear for long periods
-Makes you hot and sweaty if worn for long periods

Carex Bed Buddy Hot/Cold Pack Review

(More customer reviews)I don't know if things could go better any than this. A lot of times you order a product and try it- just to be disappointed. Not the case here. It is what it says and it does what it says- no if, ands, or butts.
The bed buddy comes wrapped up, and once you unfold it, its ready for use- no assembly required. My son grabbed it and immediately popped it in the microwave for one and a half minutes, slung it around his neck, and I've had trouble getting it back since!
As you can see, its really quick and easy to use. Unlike some hot packs, this one gets hot, and stays that way. I haven't timed it yet, but its a good payout for the short 1.5 minutes you stick it in the microwave.
And its soft too- so you can totally take it to bed with you without worrying about it scratching you or becoming uncomfortable. Perhaps its best feature is the two rings on either end- they're sturdy and can take some pullin'. These two rings make it VERY easy to place the pack where you want it. So if you have shoulder issues, you'll have no trouble slinging this thing around your neck. mid-back, low back, or where ever you need some heat.
Yes, I really like this product and will use it for a long time to come. After a day at the office, my neck can get sore and stressed out, and this little pack is just what I need- and I can use it within several minutes of walking in the door! Great for my low back too. Sunbeam Health at Home Standard Moist/Dry Heating Pad Review

(More customer reviews)My wife and I have been using this product for a variety of things and it has been great. When you turn it on, it doesn't take long to heat up which is great. At its highest temperature, the heat setting is just right, hot enough to bring relief without becoming too hot or uncomfortable. The only thing we wish was different is that once it has been on High for a while, it begins to cool down and does not become hot again until its cooled down first. This is a little frustrating if you wanted it to be hot for longer. We have tried turning it off and unplugging it at that stage, waiting a minute or two and then plugging it in again and having it on High but this doesn't seem to make it any faster. It still doesn't reach High again until its cooled down first. Other than that, its wonderful and has been a huge help for sore backs, necks, and other ailments. :-)

Carex Bed Buddy Review

(More customer reviews)We have been using Bed Buddies for years (both the back wrap and shoulder/neck version), and like them a lot. They really do deliver prolonged moist heat and relieve sore, tense muscles. The Velcro closures make them especially convenient to use.
Our Bed Buddies were getting pretty tattered, so I ordered a couple of new ones. This time, though, they have a chemical smell that I can't remedy - I've tried airing them for days in the sun, storing them with baking soda sachets...nothing works. I don't want them in my microwave oven, where we cook food - so we continue to use the old ones, not the new ones. It's been a big disappointment.
