Scientifically speaking, a perfect vacuum is about 760 mm Hg vac, and my unit was able to pull about 585 mm Hg vac. That is enough suction to cause plenty of pain, if that were one's goal. My order got here in 2 business days.
The cups are capable of working with more powerful suction devices with a homemade adapter, again, if that were one's goal.

I bought one for home use to help ease pain and muscle spasm and to increase range of motion when stretching and doing exercises. It really really works. It feels wonderful, the heat is truly radiated to the inside of you where you have muscle spasms and pain. We have since used it to cut through sinus infections and colds, headaches, and relieve carpal tunnel pain. YOU MUST WEAR EYE PROTECTION IF YOU POINT THIS AT YOUR FACE!!!! There are no great books available, but the internet is full of research on this product, much of it done over the last 30 years in China and Japan. If pain relief means anything at all to you, buy this and enjoy it. Industrial construction, almost indistructible, a real porfessional piece of equipment. Worth every penny. Note: the mineral plate is essential to the healing of this lamp. This is not just an infared lamp or heat source.

I wish amazon has some promotions like buy one get the second one half price, so I can buy one for my mom as a gift. There are two things need to pay attention to. One, don't lay the unit down on the table, or the timing alarm won't work. Second, don't stick to one point for the whole 5 minutes, try move around. Otherwise you will be like me having red dots on the skin and my doctor friend said that's because the cell in the skin was burnet.
