AlcoHawk Elite Digital Alcohol Detector Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I ordered this device because I was told that at the legal limit(texas) of .08 BAC, you dont even feel buzzed, and it can trick you into driving home "legally" drunk. This scared me no end as I always drive if I dont feel any effects!
So I the Alcohawk Elite and me and my friend took it upon ourselves to drink about 100 beers, testing with this device at intervals, in the name of science!
Turns out it works real well. I say this because it is consistent.
This tester is accurate to within + or - .01 points. That means if you are actually a .075 you will test somewhere between .065 and .085. This is a wide margin as you could test "legal" at .075 but be legally drunk in reality. However, it is consistent to within + or - .01. If you are at .075 in reality, and test repeatedly, you will blow say .072, then .069, then .070. So if you wait untill you are a little below .07, say .065, you know you are between .055 and .075, and therefore legal, but to be safe I always wait until I am in the .05's or less!
The warm up time is a bit long, but it is absolutley necisary for it to clear any pre-existing alcohol or you will blow too high, so its a good feature.
This device is great especially as an wyw opener. If I had a dollar for everytime I argued with someone who was trying to stumble out the door that they were too drunk, i'd be rich. But now when they proclaim in slurred tones " I know when I'm too drunk!*hiccup*" you can pull out you alcohawk and say "care to back that up?" It works too, they blow a .1 something, WAY passed any semblance of "legal" and they sit down and think real hard about how much trouble they could have gotten themselves into! I've done this many times now I love it!
Onw thing to be careful about: the breath sensor isnt perfect, you have to breathe deep and steady for 5 seconds or it is possible to "Cheat" and blow lower than you really are by blowing softly and not from the bottom of your lungs. If you breath right everytime it is consistent so don't cheat your own breath tester and blow it right!
In conclusion - this is usefull for making sure you are legal to drive, but you will have to be well below the legal limit to be certain, but the again better safe then sorry! Oh nad at .08, you feel real buzzed, I wouldn't drive at that point, so it is a good law!

BACTRACK Breathalyzer Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this a few weeks ago, stuck it in my car and forgot about it. Some friends and I went out to celebrate their anniversary and I thought for sure that when we left the restaurant that we were able to drive home. We all decided to give the bactrack a try and sure enough, we were all around 0.09 which is above the legal limit. We took a cab instead and saw a DWI checkpoint going on a few miles from the restaurant. This baby probably saved us from a DWI and possibly saved our lives. I'll never leave home without it! The Bactrack is perfect for any drinker. I decided to buy them one for their anniversary as well.

BACtrack Select S30 Breathalyzer Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I received the S30 and tried it out after a couple of drinks and wine, over 4 hours, at home. Waited the 30 minutes and blew a .315, which is supposed to be "unconcious". The next day, after a 22 oz. beer and my wife had one glass of wine, after waiting about 30 minutes, I blew 0.00 and my wife .06. This aparatus is not accurate at all. When I wanted to return it to the Amazon vendor - Ace Photo Digital, they refused the return for sanitary reasons. Don't buy this item but try an upgrade as you will be stuck with it if you try it and get the same results I did.

BACtrack S75 Pro Breathalyzer Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I decided to purchase the S75 after my sister gave me an old breathalyzer she had received from Sharper Image or a store like it. I definitely saw the value in using a breathalyzer when going out and having any amount of alcohol to drink, but the results I got were all over the map, so I questioned its accuracy. That meant it was time for a new purchase!
I checked out a number of brands and models of Breathalyzers and went with the S75. This model is one of the "professional" models from Bactrack, so it's the same technology used by law enforcement. More than the fact that sounds good -- it really works! I have used it - actually I have purposely tested it, in different circumstances and over time and results are accurate and consistent. It's easy to use and small enough to stash away at home or in the glove compartment - highly recommended!

The BACtrack S75 Pro is a stunning combination of accuracy, affordability, and style. The S75 Pro has been designed to reduce unnecessary size and weight, while maintaining all the accuracy benefits of a full-sized fuel-cell-based breathalyzer. And because it has obtained FDA 510(k) clearance, this professional technology is now directly available for both consumer and professional use.
Sensor's Technology Allows for Professional AccuracyThe BACtrack S75 Pro employs highly accurate Xtend fuel cell sensor technology, which allows it to be used for professional, medical testing applications, and law enforcement applications. Xtend alcohol fuel cell technology offers the following benefits:

It provides more accurate and more consistent results as compared with semi-conductor breathalyzers. For example, with the S75 Pro, you are more likely to show the same test result when you test someone repeatedly in a very short period of time.
It will not show a false positive for someone who is diabetic or on a low calorie diet. Other semiconductor breathalyzers will sometimes show a false positive result for these individuals.
It can remain accurate for up to thousands of tests.
It is more accurate at higher BAC concentrations. For example, if someone is very intoxicated, say 0.22 %BAC, the S75 Pro is more likely to provide an accurate test result as compared to semiconductor models, which often lose accuracy at higher BAC values.
The S75 Pro's Xtend sensor technology enables this device to provide trusted results every time.
Compact Tester Fits into the Palm of Your HandThe S75 Pro has been designed for maximum comfort and ease of use during testing. The sleek, rounded edges on the back side allow the breathalyzer to easily fit into the palm of your hand. This eliminates the potential for accidental drops, and also makes it easier to press the start and mode buttons during testing. A soft carrying pouch allows you to carry this device securely.
Front-facing Mouthpiece Makes Self-Testing EasyThe S75 Pro's front-facing mouthpiece has numerous advantages. First, the front-facing mouthpiece makes self-testing easy and convenient. There's no reason to rotate, twist, or turn the product after the initial countdown. With a front-facing mouthpiece, users can watch the screen and simply move the product forward towards their mouth when the countdown reaches zero. This helps eliminate flow errors - where users do not blow quickly enough after the countdown. After completing a breath sample, users can clearly see the results displayed on the screen facing them. Replaceable mouthpieces easily attach to the breath intake port. Mouthpieces can be reused or replaced after each test.
Xtend Technology™ Provides Accurate Results Every Time The S75 Pro's Xtend sensor technology enables this device to provide trusted results every time. The BACtrack S75 has been tested by the DOT/NHTSA and meets their requirements for a breath alcohol screening device. The S75 Pro is also FDA 510(k) cleared for personal use.
This device uses a miniature air pump to more accurately collect a breath sample. During use, you can actually feel the "click" of the pump collecting the breath sample. The BACtrack S75 Pro will not show a false positive for someone who is diabetic or on a low calorie diet. It provides accurate and more consistent results for up to thousands of tests.
