Biscuit Storybook Collection Review

Biscuit Storybook Collection
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
How can children's book publisher HarperCollins improve Alyssa Satin Capucilli's Biscuit series? By offering 10 of Biscuit's most endearing stories in one book. That's exactly what they've done with the "Biscuit Storybook Collection."
Biscuit is a sweet-faced puppy you want to grab right out of the pages and cuddle. He and the little girl share the simple joys of childhood, like getting ready for bed and having a picnic. They share the excitement of adventures like being in a pet show and having a birthday party. They share the ability to take things that don't turn out quite right and make them wonderful.
The "Biscuit Storybook Collection" is the perfect book to introduce a child to the joys of reading.
The large typeface, simple words and repetition make the stories easy to read. The sweet plots and the delightful illustrations by Pat Schories make the stories a joy to read. The pictures are very gentle, with soft lines and colors, but are full of expression and activity. They are very effective at creating interest and encouraging the beginning reader to keep going to find out what happens next.
The stories included in the "Biscuit Storybook Collection" are:
Biscuit
Biscuit Wins a Prize
Biscuit's New Trick
Happy Birthday, Biscuit!
Biscuit's Picnic
Biscuit's Day at the Beach
Time to Paint Biscuit!
Biscuit Meets the Neighbors
Biscuit Goes to the Park
Biscuit and the Bunny
The "Biscuit Storybook Collection" is a must-have for your child's library. At my 3-year old's insistence, we have read stories from the "Biscuit Storybook Collection" every day since we got the book (2 months ago.) She doesn't show any signs of losing interest in the "Biscuit Storybook Collection" anytime soon, and I must add, neither do I. It's a very pleasant surprise to find a book that I not only don't mind reading over and over, I actually enjoy and look forward to reading over and over. The price is right, too. The "Biscuit Storybook Collection," complete with 10 different stories, doesn't cost any more than the price of a single book. I encourage you to buy this book today!

Nine Dog Winter: In 1980, two young Canadians recruited nine rowdy sled dogs, and headed out camping in the Yukon as temperatures plunged to Sixty Degrees Below and colder

Bruce Batchelor was a friend from high school, some 30 years before when we reconnected over the internet and he sent me a copy of his 3rd book, "Nine Dog Winter," to read.
I LOVED reading it. Bruce has a rare gift among writers: he writes like he speaks. His "voice" comes through his literary voice as if he was sitting telling you these amusing incidents while you share a hot cocoa by the fireside of a winter evening. You can almost "hear" his voice rising in excitment at the dangers and pausing dramatically before revealing the outcome. Of course, he didn't die, or he wouldn't have been around to write the book, but he also survived having a Volkswagen slit his throat from ear-to-ear when he was still a teen, so you never know just how close to death he (or the other characters - real life characters) just might come at any moment.
If you know Bruce, you are doubtless one of his thousands of "fans", and you should not miss this delightful "visit" with him and his lovely mistress, er, I mean, lover, well, ummm, bride!
If you don't know Bruce Batchelor, it is all the more reason to take this chance to introduce him to you. This "math geek" from high school was and is full of surprises, not the least of which was his indomitable pioneering spirit to take on the frozen wilderness.
(As some of your older folks may know, the musical group "Three Dog Night" got its name from an Aboriginal expression for a cold night in Australia, "Nine Dog Winter" is just that much colder and you couldn't get me to do it if I had 99 dogs!)
Bruce is one of the smartest people I know. Why he would do a crazy thing like this I will never understand, but I sure am glad he wrote about the experience, because now I will never have to see snow again to know how cold it was.

Nine Dog Winter: Winter camping with sled dogs in Canada's Yukon by Bruce T. Batchelor is a true story, about two young Canadians who recruit nine mismatched huskies, and head out camping in the Yukon as the temperature plunges to Sixty-Eight Below.

Follow this 1980-'81 winter adventure of a young couple intent on recreating the classic Yukon pioneer lifestyle.

Includes dozens of photographs, maps and diagrams, plus complete instructions for building toboggans, harnesses, moccasins and other traditional winter camping equipment.

Hundreds of tips gathered from native and white trappers, pioneers and others who live and thrive in the Northern bush.

About the author BRUCE BATCHELOR: Though he'd lived in the Yukon for five years, the author's unfulfilled dream was to spend a winter in a remote wilderness cabin with a woman he loved, training dog teams and making long expeditions. When he teamed up with backcountry ranger Marsha McGillis in 1980, the (mis)adventures could begin!

Bruce Batchelor came to the Yukon in 1973, planning to stay just long enough to earn money for a trip to Europe. Instead, he fell in love with the wilderness and its people, and stayed for most of the next eight years. He has written three books about his stay in the North. Marsha McGillis, heroine of Nine Dog Winter, agreed to marry him in 1983. Their son, Dan, was born in 1992. They live in Victoria, BC, with a white lab-husky cross named Tyhee Too in honour of the Tyhee in this story. Bruce and Marsha own Agio Publishing House, where he edits and directs marketing, while Marsha designs the books and Dan takes photos.

REVIEWER'S COMMENT: "A real page turner. I couldn't wait to see what was around the next bend in the trail as I raced through this delightful read. An instant classic about Canada's North as experienced by two plucky southerners." -- David Pettigrew, filmmaker, adventurer and sourdough

PetAlive Ear Dr. - Ear Drops for Pets (30ml) Review

PetAlive Ear Dr. - Ear Drops for Pets (30ml)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I originally posted review 3 days after using it. Now I am on the the second bottle, using it for 3.5 months and wanted update my experience (original review is at the end).
Thanks to this product, my dog's ear infection is almost healed completely now. The biggest difference this product made was to stop producing ear wax right away and all started come out slowly (some were so large that I couldn't even believe). Bad smell from ear (caused by bacteria) is gone and replaced with nice tea tree oil smell. Also the color of ear canal became very healthy looking which I saw for the first time in last 4 years. All these were noticed in the first week.
What I've been fighting still is the built up ear wax to come out completely (still see a little bit left) and after that, it looks like I can stop using it. Now I really feel like seeing a light at the end of the tunnel and can't tell how happy this product made me.
I would recommend reading PetAlive website also which explains how to use this product.>
I started using this product 3 days ago and already see a big difference. This is amazing and almost gave me tears thinking back what me and my dog had gone through in the last 4 years with his ear infection.
I have a 9 years old German Shepherd and from one incident (which required a minor surgery), he started having abnormal amount of ear wax. Vet suggested and the wax had been removed twice (requires sedation every time which I was too worried about), but the wax kept coming back.
Since then, I've been monitoring his ear 4-5 time a week and using ear flush (from the vet) at least once a week. The amount of wax settled down a bit but it just didn't look like getting any better.
I found some pimples in his ear last week and while researching it on line, I found this product. It is actually a lot cheaper to buy directly from PetAlive website (they are having a deal right now), but did not wan to wait so I ordered through amazon (I get all my shipments in 2 days with Prime membership).
The biggest difference I noticed is that the strong odor he had from his infected ear is totally gone on the 2nd day and actually smells good now for the first time in 4 years! Skin color is already back to normal pinkish color and the pimples have gotten so much smaller and almost all gone.
Still have some wax left but it's coming out a little by little every day. According to PetAlive website, it will take for a while to be totally healed, so I will see how it goes and edit this post accordingly.
This is not a medicine and made from natural ingredients only, but it works better than anything else I've tried in the past. Hopefully this will be the cure and my dog doesn't have to suffer any longer.
I've looked through the entire PetAlive website and actually just purchased "Muscle and Joint Support" for my other dog (will arrive tomorrow).
Updates on June 23rd 2011:
I am having the same problem again... and I found another good product which also works very well. It is Zymox Optic Enzymatic Solution (Amazon also sells). Not smells as good as this one but it worked faster.

Heel Inc Traumeel Review

Heel Inc Traumeel
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
A homeopathic vet treated my 10 yr. old miniture schnauzer with Traumeel and other things. He has spinal arthritis that when inflamed will give him a pinched nerve. The other remedies she treated him with along with Traumeel really did not show any improvement.
One day I decided to use Traumeel by itself like asprin. By that night he showed remarkable improvement. He is no longer twisted when stands up. He can move and play some. Traumeel is actually a life safer for my dog. Due to other problems he cannot take asprin or any other products.
By the way, this seller shipped it right away and was much cheaper than a homeopathic vet. Our local vet is very impressed with this product. I will be ordering this for as long as my dog gets results!

Simple Solution Disposable Diapers, Small, 12-Count Review

Simple Solution Disposable Diapers, Small, 12-Count
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have tried every sort of diaper for my Senior Maltese who is experiencing incontinence in her old age. I love that fact that you can reuse the unsoiled diaper with the diaper tabs. Due to her silky fur and shape of her back I found them slipping off. Soooo with a little creativity I put her harness on and used a baby mitten clip to create a doggy suspender! Attach one end to the top of the diaper and the other to the harness. IT WORKS PERFECTLY! Now my senior dog can roam freely about the house. She really doesn't mind wearing them, she is very comfortable and used to the idea of wearing diapers. I give this product 5 STARS!!! There is nothing better on the market, trust me, I have spent loads of $$$$ trying to find something.

Ark Naturals Brushless Toothpaste Review

Ark Naturals Brushless Toothpaste
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've struggled with trying to clean teeth on 3 dogs on a regular basis. They don't like it, I don't like it, we don't do it enough. But I also hate the bad breath and dread the idea of having to pay for a dental someday. So we've tried lots of things: the finger brushes, the dual brushes, the wipes, the drops in the water, the sprays, and even adding parsley to the food. Some things were ok, some things were not, but nothing worked and nothing made us "want" to use it.
Until this brushless toothpaste product.
These are truly amazing!!!
The dogs love them (even my uber-finicky dachshund). They are a daily treat that they look forward to and I look forward to giving them. In fact, they can hear me open the bag from another room -- it's so cute to do that and have all 3 of them come running. Best of all, I noticed a difference in the breath immediately and, in just 3 weeks, I SEE a difference. Even the back molars are cleaner.

I'm ordering again!
In fact, that's what brought me online tonight

My "Service Dog"; a 5 year old Plush coated German Shepherd named Wolfgang, who has given me "My life back," needed relief from a sore, and cronic aching shoulder. I researhed, and found many pain relievers, none of which came without precautions and side affects except; "DGP, or Dog Gone Pain. Wolf has been on this wonderful all natural herbal and cartilage joint support and pet revitatization since January 2005. Not only did the DGP releive his pain, but it is giving Wolfie a "new lease on life". We both are so very thankful. We are a team again.

Novartis Capstar Flea Treatment Blue Tabs for Dogs and Cats Review

Novartis Capstar Flea Treatment Blue Tabs for Dogs and Cats
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Apparently some cats and dogs respond badly to this medication, but it works wonderfully for my cat.
She weighs just 10 pounds, so I give her half a tablet (I cut them apart in a regular pill cutter) and any fleas she's picked up fall off and die. My vet explained to me that the chemical in Capstar isn't recognized by the animal's body - it just passes through without being absorbed and broken down. It comes out as a gas through the pores of the skin, and acts on the fleas like cyanide gas acts on people. It's instantly lethal to the fleas. Unfortunately, when the fleas get the first whiff of gas, they respond by biting REALLY HARD in a reflexive reaction. Some cats and dogs who have several fleas may experience sudden very hard bites in many areas of their bodies, which could account for the jumping around and panting. It doesn't feel very good. Flea bites are terrible under normal circumstances, and their "death bites" are worse.
About twenty minutes after I give her the half-tablet, my cat starts scratching and/or licking hard at any fleas that are biting her. It goes on for about 10-15 minutes. Then they fall off and die. They don't completely die right away, so I stay away from her during this phase, or they'll jump on me and start their dying bites, and it's not pleasant!
Since I only give her half a tablet, a box lasts me twice as long as usual. I give her a tablet every 3 weeks or so, whenever she picks up a flea or two or three. She's an outside cat so we struggle with this off and on all summer. I also take her to the vet to get her Program shot, which works in conjunction with the Capstar tablets. Program keeps the fleas from laying fertile eggs, so the house doesn't get infested.

Cure your small cat or dog of adult fleas with Novartis Capstar. Its active ingredient is Nitenpyram, which belongs to the chemical class of neonicotinoids that bind and inhibit insect-specific nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. Nitenpyram interferes with normal nerve transmission and leads to the death of the insect. Nitenpyram does not inhibit acetylcholinesterase. For dogs and cats 2 to 25 pounds. Should be given orally, with or without food, on any day when fleas are present. Do not give more than 1 treatment per day. If a continuous flea infestation is observed after using Capstar, see your veterinarian. For the first hour after administering Capstar, your pet may scratch more than normal, which is caused by fleas reacting to the product. Contains 11.4 milligrams of Nitenpyram. Please read all label information on delivery. Includes 6 tablets.
