Freederm HC - Eczema - Dermatitis - Skin Rash cream Review

This cream worked wonders for me after I started using it in January 2007. I am a chronic eczema sufferer - have had it since I was a baby - and have never been able to live without super strength cortisone. Freederm's combination of the mild (1%) cortisone and anti-microbial (benzalkonium chloride) entirely cleared up all my milder eczema problem areas (face, arms, torso) and significantly improved my severe hand eczema. I was ecstatic. But when reordered, the product that came was completely different - no cortisone, no antimicrobial, totally different base. I admire Freederm's effort to make a nonmedicated cream. However, this new formulation not only doesn't work for me, it actually irritates my skin. I am baffled by Freederm's apparent decision not to offer both versions. And I also feel that it is not truthful for them to post all the glowing testimonials when the testimonials are for an entirely different product.
For fans of the discontinued medicated product, I found a great dermatologist at Stanford who recommends mixing cortisone (the lowest strength that works for you) with antibacterial cream (Bactroban - you need a prescription). Same theory and works as well as the old Freederm medicated cream.

Ocean For Kids, Saline Nasal Spray 1.25 fl oz Review

Using this on my 6-week old baby is thus far one of my proudest achievements as a mother...seriously. She's had difficulty breathing for a few days now due to dry mucus too far up to safely remove and this morning she began breathing through her mouth and snorting. I used the blue plastic bulb syringe which didn't help and the nurse said it could make the problem worse; she recommended I buy this product or a brand called Baby Noses, she said the baby would either swallow the mucus or sneeze it out. I was very skeptical that this would work, but I sent my husband anyway to the drugstore to purchase it. Within two minutes after putting a couple of drops in each of her nostrils she sneezed out two boogers the size of an eraser tip!? This could have explained why she was fussy and not eating well. Instantly my baby became serene and slept for almost five hours straight. Looking back the ceiling fan and the A/C in the car probably caused her mucus to dry out and get worse. After seeing my baby struggle with her breathing I'm so happy I was able to help her with her stuffy nose!!!

Aquaphor Healing Ointment Review

Aquaphor Healing Ointment

For as long as I can remember I've had very dry cracked lips. Sometimes it would be so bad that I would have pieces of dried skin hanging loose on my lip. I tried almost every product ever recommend to me including expensive Skinceuticals Anti-Oxidant lip repair and Khiel's Lip Balm to no avail. While some of these products seemed to help a bit, in the end nothing really came close to Aquaphor.
Aquaphor stays on the lips longer and seems to actually work to make my lips not as dry and definitely more smooth and soft. I only have to apply it a few times a day and my lips are fine. It has been a godsend for me. I don't consider it expensive because a little goes a long way and compared to the other products I tried, it's cheap.
I wish they made Aquaphor in a lip balm applicator size and with sunscreen. When I go outside, I have to use a separate sunscreen product on my lips (sometimes over the Aquaphor) in order to protect agains sun damage.
I'm glad I found this product and will certainly continue to use it and drink plenty of water as well.

Glytone Body Lotion, 8.4-Ounce Package Review

Glytone Body Lotion, 8.4-Ounce Package

It doesn't have an odor and my skin is soft and silky like a baby bottom -- really! I would give this 10 stars -- it's great!
Note -- it does have a high acid content so you don't want to put this on skin that is broken -- it will burn -- not literally but you will have that sting like a lemon on broken skin.
My skin was actually cracking because it was so dry in the winter. I went to the dermatologist and she prescribed AmLactin XL -- you do not need a prescription for that - it helped but I still had the cracked skin. I did some homework on my own and tried the glytone -- it worked! I went to a different dermatologist and told them what I was doing, asked if they had any other suggestion and they said -- glytone was what they recommend and also Amlactin XL. The second doctor I went to is actually listed in Top Doctors Magazine and it took me 3 months to get an appointment -- I figured if he says it is good -- it's good.
It only takes a little bit to massage into your skin -- best after a shower. It absorbs in well but you want to use just a small amount to keep from being sticky after. I saw results within about 3 weeks. The dermatologist said it takes about 2 weeks for it to work.
I will continue to buy this product and from this vendor at Amazon. It came in a few days and I am very happy with the results.
