(More customer reviews)I suffer with very very dry eyes. They sting a lot and I frequently have to put drops in them. Recently the drops just weren't doing it for me anymore.... felt like someone glued my eyelids open and sat me in front of an industrialized heavy duty fan. I had to take frequent naps daily just to help with my stinging dry eyes. I got headaches when I read or stared at the computer too long cause of persistent stinging. For my 'Dry eye syndrome' this is the FIRST and ONLY product that has really helped. My eyes are no longer red. They do not burn, they do not dry out quickly.
I still use liquid drops but maybe only once of twice daily and this is only because I am afraid my eyes dry out again.
This product is worth the money and I highly recommend it.

(More customer reviews)I've tried many products for my dry eyes. Most were solutions in plastic bottles and plastic tubes, and they helped for less than an hour. I know this product is supposed to be for night time use but I use it all the time. Because it is an ointment it lasts much longer then the solutions. It's well worth spending the extra money.
The other feature I like is the fact that it is not in a plastic container. I don't know how they claim that plastic containers are sterile, they are very porous. The other problem is plastic bottles and plastic tubes have "suck back" pulling contaminents into the container at every use.

(More customer reviews)I've used this product for over 20 years for moderate dry eye with no other eye disease. I am a computer programmer. I have found this product to be the most effective for relief of dry eyes, without blurring. I've had no adverse effects from this product.
Hypotears isn't just saline with an antimicrobial preservative. Polyvinyl alcohol, one of the active ingredients, is a film-forming emulsifier (see Wiki entry). Hypotears doesn't feel like just saline eyewash, it wets far longer.

(More customer reviews)In the past, my doctor has recommended "lid scrubs" with baby shampoo for my dry eyes and itchy eyelids. That works great if you do it. I saw this product on the shelf at the drug store when I was looking for eye drops. It's much less expensive at Amazon. Anyway, I had already purchased a box and tried it. It works just like the baby shampoo except that the foam feels better on the area around the eyes; not as heavy as the baby shampoo. I talked to the optometrist about this product and she asked me to compare ingredients. They are almost the same as in baby shampoo. But, baby shampoo costs about 1/10th the prce. Of course you should talk to an optometrist if you are having eye problems but if they recommend this product, you could try baby shampoo first for a lot less money.
