The "Enfant Terrible" of Fashion: French Designer Jean-Paul Gaultier and Late British Designer Alexander McQueen Review

This can only be laughingly called a book. This is a compilation of Wikipedia pages put together as a book, I was able to read it in 15 minutes and learned nothing. There are a total of 5 pages dedicated to Lee McQueen and Gaultier (all 5 of which were their respective Wikipedia pages) and the rest was the Wikipedia pages of the celebrities that have worn their clothes! This so-called book is a waste of time, do yourself a favor and pass this one up!

The term "enfant terrible" refers to a child who behaves badly. When it comes to fashion, it typically refers to designers who may have pushed the envelope creatively, offended people, were rebellious, and didn't follow the norms or trends. In this industry, the two enfants terrible are French designer Jean-Paul Gaultier, and British designer Alexander McQueen. Gaultier is famous for the cone-bra he designed for Madonna and the promotion of skirts for men. McQueen is known for being the head designer of Givenchy then for launching the "bumsters" which resulted in the low-rise jeans trend. The book takes a look at these two talented designer and the tragic death of McQueen in February 2010.

Magic Stack-n-Whack Quilts Review

Magic Stack-n-Whack Quilts
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As a beginning quilter, I found this book to be an excellent guide for easily making kaleidoscope quilts without mirrors or extensive measuring and cutting. As a paper crafter as well, I found the technique great for collages.
The book starts out by explaining how to choose fabric and pick colors. It's a great plus that almost any fabric that has a repeat pattern can be used. Then, there are lots of great tips on rotary cutting, machine piecing & pressing.
Next, the stack-n-whack process is demonstrated in detail with step-by-step instructions and full-color photos. Fourteen different quilt projects, in 7 different styles follow. Illustrations are used instead of photos for these.
The quilts themselves are beautiful. There are large color photos of each one. In the back there are guides and patterns for all the projects as well as lesson plans for classes.

Not what I thought. It's very complicated. The instructions are daunting and I wouldn't even begin. I tried to give it to a quilting friend and she agreed. Definitely not for the timid.
