(More customer reviews)I planned to keep this thing on my desk, in my office. It is small and unobtrusive, after all, and I don't really have any other place to keep it at work. I need quiet in my office for various reasons, including frequent quiet conversations. It's too noisy. It's annoyingly noisy. If it had a short duty cycle, it might be okay, but the fan seems to be running about half the time. In a warmer room, it would be worse.
There's got to be a way to design this thing to be quieter, without making it more expensive. No one bothered.
I used to have a Medi-Fridge. It's smaller, but I only need to cool one vial of insulin. It lasted a year or two, then died. I used to think it was too noisy, but it was far quieter than the Medi-Cooler. I thought I was buying another Medi-Fridge. The names and appearances of these two devices are confusingly similar. I'm going to return this item, hope Amazon will accept the return.
This might be okay for people who don't need a quiet device.
