(More customer reviews)I have been trying Homeopathy now for 2 years with great success (find a GOOD Practitioner with proper credentials!) and know that it has been a well respected medical field in Europe since the 1800's. We travel extensively in Europe and Homeopathy is right in with Pharmacies! Just got back from Switzerland .. wish I'd gotten my Arnica there! That is why I am purchasing this product .. it is a UK company .. it should have all the usual health requirements of the UK medical testing .. and pellets have a good shelf life. My own Practitioner gets her supply from Europe!

(More customer reviews)My mother has painful arthritis in her hands, and we were unable to give her some of the usual medications because of side effects and drug interactions. We tried Boiron's Arnica gel, and it takes the edge off of her pain. She has used it for her hands. for sprains, and while rehabilitating from broken bones, and says that it makes her pain bearable. She often uses it when pain keeps her up at night, and it allows her to sleep. We have found no negative effects except that it is painful when used on broken skin (eg, small cuts or sores). Unlike other rubs, it has no scent. I use it myself after exercising. I don't know if it works for everyone, but I recommend trying it! (I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it does not remove the pain entirely).

(More customer reviews)I understand where the first commentater with the 1-star rating may be coming from. However, the user must understand how this Homeopathic medicine works. Arnica Montana does exactly what it says, only not like Allopathic drugs. Used in conjunction with the Arnica Gel when an injury has occured - bruising, swelling and pain is essentially minimalized or stopped. The pellets work internally, and are gentle, the gel works topically with no odor or stickiness.
This combination is what i use for myself and my children- twin boys under 2yrs old, who are constantly getting bumps and falls. Just over the weekend, my son ran out a slider door onto a concrete patio , landed flat on his forhead. We immediately used Arnica Gel and pellets on the heavily dented area on his forhead that was starting to swell, and continued that every hour or so for the next day as needed, and my son had virtually no swelling and no bruising.
I personally use the pellets if my muscles are sore, I describe their effectiveness by : after taking them, i go about my day, and notice later on that i haven't had a complaining thought about the pain i was feeling before...i do find i take more doses than i would an nsaid, but it works.

(More customer reviews)I was at a plastic surgeon's office one day, learning a technique in skin care. He told the patient that she needed to buy some of this "Arnica Montanicum" so that her bruising would resolve quickly. He told the next patient that if he used this orally BEFORE and AFTER surgery there was a good chance he would bruise less. I sort of stored the information away and later got a tube of it as a gel with a free little bottle of the pills in a gift pack.
AMAZING. Bruises that looked deep and purple, like blueberries at the crook of my arm, were just pale yellow and barely visible in 48 hours.
The next month, I tried the little pills, thinking they wouldn't really work as well. (I had given my gel to a friend with a huge, nasty bruise but knew I was going to have a horrible bruise after walking into the bureau. HARD.) I kept up the dosing as they taste just fine (little bits of sugar actually) and was amazed at how my muscle pain resolved quickly (I hadn't even counted on that) and I never did form a real bruise. As I take aspirin, I used to always have bruises all over me. I don't have a bruise on me today.
BTW, the surgery patient went back to her eye doctor and he said "Wow! You don't have a bruise on you. That's amazing."
She told him she took the Arnica and he smiled. Then he had to make the typical allopathic comment about "No controlled studies proving Arnica's utility."
Right, unless you count the 100 + years of Homeopathic experience with it. So patronizing, some of these guys.

The only reason, Mr. M.D., that there isn't a "controlled study", at least one you might have read, is that there isn't any huge money in it for the pharmaceutical giants.
So, this is not to be construed as medical advice, but if you would like to try something benign to avoid or treat bruising and pain, give it a try.
Remember to always tell your doctor and pharmacist about herbal or homeopathic meds!

(More customer reviews)Have used this for years. Used after a thyroid removal and even the doctor commented on how I had much less swelling than is expected with that surgery. He said other patients had used it with the same results, but he could not order it. He did write permission for me to take it in the recovery room. It works. I have used it after many head and neck/ skin cancer surgeries with great results, less swelling means less pain
The gel is wonderful. Even a fall up the back stairs with a huge bang on the shin never even bruised because I ran for the arnica gel and slathered it on the area. I expected to wake up the next day, sore and black and blue, but I was pleasantly surprised. no bruising at all. Highly recommend.

(More customer reviews)I can't tell you how inexpressibly happy I was to discover that Amazon stocks this item, and in bulk, and in PRIME! I first found it in my local health food store, but have since moved about 1000 miles away to a new city and state and have NO idea where to get the stuff around here - and it's the only thing I've found that helps to deal with my episodes of very, VERY heavy menstruation. (Sorry if this is an unpleasant subject, but people need to know what the product is good for!) After searching in vain for a solution in standard medicine, which says there isn't one (short of voluntary hysterectomy, which is a tad farther than I'm willing to go at this moment), I said, what the hell, I'll try homeopathy - and found this little gem. Without it, I'm at the mercy of my weird body, which apparently thinks I ENJOY waking up in a pool of my own blood (literally - and no one should have to do that unless they've been shot!). If you, too, are tired of feeling like a gunshot victim, try it. (You can also get a single package through Amazon, but I buy it in fives!)
