(More customer reviews)This is the fourth (or fifth) multiple order of Guaifenesin I've placed with this vendor. In the past, this drug was prescribed to me for a reasonable co-pay. When Mucinex entered the market, insurance carriers would no longer cover it; so for about a year I had to cough up (pun intended) the premium price for the name brand.
Fortunately, I eventually found this vendor. Although all guaifenesin is a synthesized version of a plant derivative, this formulation seems to behave identically to Mucinex for me. You do have to do a little math to get the same dosage if you are used to taking Mucinex.
The brand "Kirkland Signature" is a co-brand (store brand) of Costco. The only thing I can say in this regard is that for the product I have consumed, there has not seemed to be any variance in the consistency of the product. It is important to drink the recommended glass of water when taking this medication. The water is necessary to assist in the thinning of mucus.
The service has been excellent, as has shipping time. If you are considering a reasonable alternative to more expensive brands without sacrificing effectiveness, you may want to consider trying this product.

My doc prescribed some of these Mucinex fun bombs for me officially to help clear out some nasty snoogers. The result, snoogers aside, has been gloriously explosive! What rhymes with 'tarts'? Smarts? Hearts? Hey! Let's play "Remove a Letter"!!! Here we go.... Flarts! This stuff gives you endless amounts of GAS!!!! Not since I tried the PETA Diet have I had hiney honkers quite like this!!! I have no idea how many cubic feet of stinkless hoo hoos I popped out, but they were honking almost non-stop for almost four hours within thirty minutes of popping these giggle pills. Mucinex? More like Pootinex!!! They do the official job admirably, but the side effects on me kept me giggling for hours!

Without it, my sinuses get plugged and irritated within a few days, setting me up for recurrent infections. It works as an "expectorant" which means it helps keep the mucus thinned so your sinuses can clear more easily and don't become a breeding ground for bacteria and /or viruses.
As a clinic-based, practicing RN, I know that Mucinex / guiafenesin is often recommended by physicians, and is a safe product with very few side effects or drug interactions. (NO, I'm not getting paid by anyone to say any of this!)
Mucinex in this Extended Release formula minimizes the number of daily doses down to once or twice daily depending on your personal needs. This 100 tablet bottle is definitely the cheapest way to purchase - I had been getting it at WalMart for the past few years (until my smart sister told me to check for it on Amazon :-) in the 40 tablet bottles for almost $20 per bottle!
If you have sinus problems, especially chronic ones, or are prone to recurring infections, Mucinex is certainly worth a try.
