(More customer reviews)I have been taking Zyrtec for year round allergies for years. I recently purchased some generic Zyrtec at my local grocery store (Shoprite) and they worked as well as Zyrtec. I did some research as to the manufacturer of the generic brand and found it was Ohm Labs. Well, Amazon sells this product from Ohm labs and at a much better price than the grocery and way below the original Zyrtec. Works just as good as the original.

Claritin 24 Hour Allergy, Tablets - 20 ea Review

(More customer reviews)As I've said, I experience spring allergies that cause me A LOT of discomfort. I'm usually miserable for weeks with watery and itchy eyes and a runny nose that just LOVES to give me problems. So, I have to take something to try to ease the discomfort somewhat.
Claritin does a great job of easing that discomfort. While it may not solve the problem entirely, I find that it does wonders for the watery and itchy eyes, which is usually my biggest problem. When I take Claritin, it does a great job of decreasing that factor. My eyes get clear, they very rarely feel itchy, and it's a problem I don't have to worry about.
However, Claritin seems to lack in the runny nose department. It does nothing for my nose. In fact, I had to buy a nasal pump to take care of my nose, which seems to be working a lot better. With how much these pills cost, you'd think that it'd really take care of the nose as well. Then again, it may vary with different people. I just know that it doesn't help me a lot in that area.
The plus side is that the pills are easy to use. You only take one a day, which is a lot better than having to take pills every four to six hours. Just take one a day, and you're set. You don't have to worry about taking another one again until the next day, so it's easy to keep track of how many doses you've taken.
The downside is the price. They're very expensive. I'm sure there are other brands out there that probably cost less that do basically the same thing, but I don't know of any at the moment. I just use this. And the other downside is that it really seems to be lacking in helping the runny noses (again, maybe this varies from person to person).
All in all, Claritin does more than a mediocre job of helping my allergies. It really takes care of the watery and itchy eyes, which I'm grateful for. While it may be expensive and it may not cure or solve every allergy problem you have, it's worth checking out. I admit that it doesn't cure all of my problems, but I know I'd be in a lot worse shape if I didn't take it. -Michael Crane

The Holmes Group HM5250UC Warm Mist Humidifier for Small Rooms Review

(More customer reviews)I would have rated this a 5 star if the cleaning was easier, but I do not know if such a humidifier exists.
We have hard water and the build up of scale was becoming a problem, even with daily cleaning (yes, you should clean this unit daily). I came up with a solution to reduce and almost eliminate the scale - I add a teaspoon of baking soda to the tank when I refill it. The scale is drastically reduced and the unit runs at a whisper quiet. I originally ran the unit without the baking soda and there was some noise, mainly gurgling, that was too loud for me since I am a light sleeper.
There is a black covered heating element that requires cleaning to remove scale. This can be very difficult to remove. I solved this as part of the weekly maintenance when you use vinegar to clean the base. The part with the heating element rests on the base. By adding enough vinegar to fill the well where the heating element engages with the base, and allowing it to soak for 10 or 15 minutes, the scale is easily removed.
I like the warm mist because it helps warm up the room.
Overall, I believe this unit is a great value.

It is a natural medicine with no adverse side effects like others that work on the same problems; you don't get drowsy or anything. My Dr. also told me that in cases where you have sever blockage you can disolve a capsule in hot water and inhale the steam.

The two primary ingredients are the reliable Vicks Vapors and another medicine, L-Desoxyephedrine which can show up on some drug tests as an Amphetamine. That's why you should keep the card that it comes attached to in the event that your employer tests you shortly after you've used it. The medications in the inhalor are very powerful and you should follow the instructions carefully. Inhaling it more frequently than directed can cause nasal irritation.
This is a good product to have on hand when you need something to blast through serious stuffiness or just to clear out you nasal passages before going to sleep. I find the vapor scent very refreshing and oddly comforting.It's a good thing to use if you are so stuffed up that you can't even get nasal spray up you nostril. Clear your congestion temporarily with this and THEN apply nasal spray.
Make sure you keep the cap screwed on tightly and keep the inhaler out of the heat and damp. Don't leave in you car where it can heat up. If it's heated up drastically, it can cause irritation since the vapors will be intensely stronger. Just like a nasal spray, you should not use this for more than a few days.
This is a good product that can help you out when others don't work. A nice alternative to oral decongestants and it doesn't make you jumpy.

(More customer reviews)I read the previous reviews and agree the taste is bad. However, after 10 years of using this product I can say it works better than any pill. The reason is that fluids mixed properly with medicine and sugar will always have more efficient transit to intracellular space for proper cellular absorption. This is why hospitals infuse meds and dextrose IV solutions in the ER. You can add sugar, lemon, tea, honey, etc to this med as far as I know. Mix it only in hot water because its very granular... if you mix it with warm water then half of the meds will remain at the bottom of the glass unmixed; and that taste is potent, it would be like chewing noncoated raw aceitominophen tablets. I think this theraflu is also the one with 1000mg aceitominophen whereas the others have lower dosage. I also recommend you take this the moment you begin to feel sick. The packets are easy to travel with but they are sealed very tight and cannot be opened with your hand! You will need something sharp to cut the packet open... scissors, pen, or key will do the job.
Trust me... pain is you friend... deal with the taste and drink it down in 10 minutes and then go rest.
If you happen to live in Japan and are ordering this product... find a vending machine with hot ocha, spill out half of it, pour 1 packet in it, shake it up, and drink it down while riding the shinkansen or something. gambatte kudasai

(More customer reviews)I've just about given up trying to keep my feet and heels from looking like something that belong on a T Rex. For years, I have struggled with the soles of my feet and my heels being so dry, they crack deeply and bleed so walking and wearing shoes is painful. Not to mention the pantyhose I've destroyed over the years. I've tried doctors, medications, vitamins, topical ointments, lotions, vaseline, sandpaper, dremel sanding wheels, drywall sanding pads followed by lotions, professional pedicures - you name it, I've tried it and failed. A few weeks back I spotted my old jar of vicks in the cabinet and decided, what the heck? Plastered some on my feet and heels after morning shower, on with the socks and sneakers, and followed this routine for 2 weeks. I have the sweetest feet now!!! I can't remember a time I wasn't mortified to show my feet in sandles, open shoes/heels, or walk barefoot in the presence of others. Nor can I recall a time when my feet didn't hurt like heck when I walked. This product is a bit expensive but the torture I've endured all my life with this issue and the extreme relief and joy I now have because of it, you can bet I'll have this on hand at all times.
October 2010 - I broke down and tried that product being advertised on tv that is suppose to work wonders for dry, cracked heels and feet. I found it on sale so went nuts and got 4 and let me tell you...they are going to be here a very, very long time. They do work, but only if you apply them a minimum of twice/day every day. Skip a day and you're feet and heels are once again doomed. So I'm back to using my reliable, dependable and efficient Vicks on my feet never to stray again.

I had this heavy cough, like I wasn't coughing up anything, but I could tell that there was something that was hiding in my throat.........After the FIRST DOSE, I began to feel the mucus in my nose move and I started actually blowing stuff out of my nose for once. After a couple more doses, my cough became productive. I have been on this stuff for a few days now and I think that my congestion is just about taken care of. Now I still have a nagging cough, but it has become less and less frequent. I think that it will eventually go away whenever my body has finished clearing everything out. I had already been to the doctor, who gave me antibiotics and a bunch of tylenol-guaifenesin-phenylephrine tablets. The antibiotics helped, but the tablets helped only marginally and did not break up the congestion. Chestal did. I have never written a review on a product; I just got online to find out where to get more so that I'm prepared for the next time I'm sick (my boyfriend brought this product to me -- he also gave me this bug in the first place). If you're contemplating whether or not to try this, just go for it. You have nothing to lose. Plus it has no nasty taste to it! Remember to take it as directed -- I had to put it in my backpack so that I wouldn't skip any doses while in class all day long! Oh, yeah, and I'm in pharmacy school. WebMD and the Mayo Clinc.com or wherever else you look won't endorse homeopathic remedies because pharmaceutical companies don't make money off of people purchasing them. And just because there hasn't been a formal study on the use and effectiveness on the product does NOT mean that it doesn't work. Do your own research and find out what is safe and effective for you. TRY IT. That's all.

I find that using this kit to flush my sinuses clears out allergens, preventing/shortening allergy attacks. It is also helpful when I get a cold or sinus infection because it flushes out much of the infection.
