(More customer reviews)If it weren't for stop smoking lozenges, I'd still be smoking. I used the Commit brand lozenges for quite a while and I find the Rite Aid brand is just as good. It's also less expensive by far and it also comes in the PopPacs which I like for carrying around.

I allow them to melt in my mouth (usually inside my cheek or under my tounge) whenever I have a craving. They are a nice, mild vanilla flavor and really seem to take my mind off the urge. I've been smoke free for a little more than three weeks and I smoked a pack a day for 27 years. I'm ordering more today.

(More customer reviews)If you want to stop smoking this works well. I continued using these patches for MANY months (about 7months) after the directions told me I should get off of them. I believe this is what made the product work for me. I initially followed their timetable but strongly felt the urge to start smoking again during the stepdowns to the weaker patches. I decided that going back to smoking was much worse for my health than continuing the use of these nicotine patches until I was good and ready to give them up. I figured the patches only have transdermal nicotine...whereas the smoke has even more nicotine as well as hundreds of chemicals which are inhaled.
I saved a lot of money over the months by cutting the 21mg patches down as I very slowly stepped down to the lower doses...first into halves and then into quarters for as long as I needed to. (You can also save a bundle of dough by purchasing the generic patches made by Safeway grocery stores...they are identical to these and even somewhat more comfortable to wear as the plastic is softer on the skin.) I always got a slight ache when I put the patches on my arms or legs...I discovered the best place to wear them is your back...alternating sides each day you use them.
One fine day I didn't need a patch anymore!!! I haven't smoked for over a year and smokers and cigarette smoke now give me serious nausea. It is hard for me to believe I ever smoked! (I smoked 1.5 packs a day for 30 years!) It is real pleasure to breathe and taste and smell again as well as to wear gorgeous perfumes which I buy with the money I save from being addiction-free! It is a self-esteem booster to kick this habit too! So many benefits!
Good luck, make your own timetable and persevere for as long as it takes you...it is 100% worth it!

(More customer reviews)I have tried everything and this is the only thing that worked for me. I have just finished the Nicoderm 3 step program and have not had a cigarette in 2 1/2 months! You can do it too and the patch will make it possible. There are a few tricks:
1) Do not even bother unless you really want to quit--you must have a purpose.
2) The night before you want to start, make sure that you smoke ALL of your cigarettes, every last one (or flush them down the toilet to get them out of sight and mind). When you are ready to go to sleep, put on the patch.
3) When you wake up, the patch is working, its up to you at that point.
Good luck! Anyone can get rid of their addiction if they really want to with the patch.
PS: I also had really wonderful and vivid dreams.

(More customer reviews)I have tried the gum, but I found it hard on my teeth and gums. I also didn't like how quickly it lost its flavor. In short, I failed to quit smoking using the gum. I also failed to quit smoking on the patch. I personally need that quick release of nicotine. I bought these lozenges when I decided to give quitting another try. They are small, but powerful. I smoked menthol cigarettes, and the strong mint flavor is a good subsitution. I am only on my fifth day smoke-free, but I have already succeeded in situations that caused me to fail in the past. I spent hours with a smoker friend outside talking, while she smoked, and I had my mints. I can honestly say I wasn't tempted to smoke. I gave it four stars because the flavor and texture does take some getting used to. Everyone's taste will be different. Obviously the mints will only help, if you really want to quit. I highly reccommend them for people who are motivated, but have struggled with other nicotine replacement aids.
