A few years ago they became so painful that I had to walk the downhills on my runs, and my knees usually ached the day after. Luckily, I happened across a newspaper column by Dr. Peter Gott called "Ask the Doctor" in which he recommended trying Castiva for someone with a chronic joint-related pain. I ordered some from Amazon, and began rubbing it onto my knee joints all around the knee cap.(It doesn't take much.) Within days I felt improvement, and within weeks I was able to jog downhill without pain. (Apparently some of the ingredients cause Castor Oil to penetrate the skin into the joint.) It works so well for me that I've become a "true believer". I'm not intrusive but if a friend or family member mentions a nagging pain like mine or tennis elbow for example, I recommend trying Castiva. Later, and more often than not, I'm told "Hey, that stuff works!"
