His cough was so bad for 3 days he was not sleeping at night and he could not fall asleep for his daily 3 hour nap. We tried giving him honey, childrens tylenol before he went down, but he would not fall asleep. You put 1 tbsp per quart of water used in the Vicks vaporizer. It mixed with the water and came out as steam in his room. Going in his room there was a very heavy vicks smell, but it did the trick. He slept an hour past his usual wake up time this morning, and just now he slept an hour and a half later than he usually does for his nap. Highly recommended since you can't give your kids cold medicine at this young age.
