Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier 1 ea Review

Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier 1 ea
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this warm mist humidifier after owning a vaporizer and a cool mist humidifier. The vaporizer was fine except that it was too hot and burned my son's arm, so i needed something else. The cool mist humidifier (different company) broke very fast besides for the expense of changing filters.
This humidifier is great.
1) The warmth is very soothing but not too hot-it won't burn you if you put your hand over the mist.
2) It never leaks onto the floor or gets the surrounding furniture wet (the other one did all the time).
3) It is whisper quiet. You can hardly hear the very soft humming sound even when right near it even on high.
4) It gives out a nice amount of humidity even on the low setting.
5) It is very simple to clean.
6) It is very light and easy to fill up.
On the low setting the water lasts well over 12 hours-I haven't timed exactly how long. On high it goes for about a little over 11 hours. The auto shut-off works very nicely.
I really think this product is great so far. I've paid more for it at a local store and still think it's worth it. The Amazon price is really great which makes it a great buy.

Vicks soothing vapor inhaler for nasal congestion relief - 12 ea Review

Vicks soothing vapor inhaler for nasal congestion relief - 12 ea
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The design of the Vicks Inhaler is one of the reasons it is so popular. No bigger than a chapstick, you can carry it anywhere. The two primary ingredients are the reliable Vicks Vapors and another medicine, L-Desoxyephedrine which can show up on some drug tests as an Amphetamine. That's why you should keep the card that it comes attached to in the event that your employer tests you shortly after you've used it. The medications in the inhalor are very powerful and you should follow the instructions carefully. Inhaling it more frequently than directed can cause nasal irritation.
This is a good product to have on hand when you need something to blast through serious stuffiness or just to clear out you nasal passages before going to sleep. I find the vapor scent very refreshing and oddly comforting. It's a good thing to use if you are so stuffed up that you can't even get nasal spray up you nostril. Clear your congestion temporarily with this and THEN apply nasal spray.
Make sure you keep the cap screwed on tightly and keep the inhaler out of the heat and damp. Don't leave in you car where it can heat up. If it's heated up drastically, it can cause irritation since the vapors will be intensely stronger. Just like a nasal spray, you should not use this for more than a few days.
This is a good product that can help you out when others don't work. A nice alternative to oral decongestants and it doesn't make you jumpy.

Vicks VapoSyrup 10 fl oz (295 ml) Review

Vicks VapoSyrup 10 fl oz (295 ml)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've had a few severe head colds this winter, and this is by far the best thing that I have used. I've tried many different syrups, pills, drops, etc from various brands, and this has been by far the most effective. The taste is pleasant - it's nice to have something other than the standard cherry, grape, or dreaded black licorice flavors - and I love the addition of Vicks, too. It also kicks in quickly and, though it doesn't always last the full four hours between doses, it does seem to last a lot longer than the standard cold syrup. This has really helped me get through the day a lot easier, and will definitely be my first choice for head colds from now on. If you're looking for something to really help with severe congestion and, as a result of that, phlegm and mucus buildup in the throat, definitely give this a try.

I remember this product from the 1970s and am amazed it is still made. I was unable to find it in local stores. It works very well and will clear your sinuses. To me it smells identical to Vicks Vapor rub. I would recommend this product for a stuffy nose.

Vicks VapoSteam Liquid Medication, Camphor Cough Suppressant 8 fl oz (236 ml) Review

Vicks VapoSteam Liquid Medication, Camphor Cough Suppressant 8 fl oz (236 ml)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This product helped my 3 year old son with a nasty cough sleep during the night and a nap mid-day. His cough was so bad for 3 days he was not sleeping at night and he could not fall asleep for his daily 3 hour nap. We tried giving him honey, childrens tylenol before he went down, but he would not fall asleep. You put 1 tbsp per quart of water used in the Vicks vaporizer. It mixed with the water and came out as steam in his room. Going in his room there was a very heavy vicks smell, but it did the trick. He slept an hour past his usual wake up time this morning, and just now he slept an hour and a half later than he usually does for his nap. Highly recommended since you can't give your kids cold medicine at this young age.
Used this mixed in the water with the Vicks 1.5 Gallon Vaporizer with Night-Light

PediaCare Gentle Vapors Vapor-Plug Unit and Nightlight, Mini Waterless Vaporizer (Pack of 3) Review

PediaCare Gentle Vapors Vapor-Plug Unit and Nightlight, Mini Waterless Vaporizer (Pack of 3)
Average Reviews:

I was looking for an alternative to the adult version (medication vapor) and came across this product. Wonderful, wonderful, what a nice product! I love this no chemical version using just Menthol, Eucalyptus, Camphor, Lavender, Chamomile. the aromatic scent in the room was great! I was not congested, but if certainly peaked my nostrils. A great product, will certainly tell other parents about it.
So even if looking to clean/freshen the air without chemicals, I think this is a nice alternative.

Kaz KFC-4 4 Oz Menthol Inhalant Review

Kaz KFC-4 4 Oz Menthol Inhalant
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this in hope it would be a cheap variant of Vick's Camphor inhalant. I was so wrong! This item has a weird mix of ingredients, they do not smell nice together. The oily liquid does not allow the mixture to dissolve in water, and as the result there is little vapor with the medication. You need to pour a lot into a jar and stir it up to get any results, and even then the nose and lungs feel assaulted by chemicals and not soothed as they are supposed to. I would not recommend this product. Do not compromise - buy Vick's Vapo Steam.

Vicks SpeedRead Digital Thermometer (Oral, Rectal, Under Arm) Review

Vicks SpeedRead Digital Thermometer (Oral, Rectal, Under Arm)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have read the other reviews complaining about the battery life and I have to say I have had the complete opposite experience. True, the battery does not last as long as other digital thermometers, but with two kids who constantly want to check to see if they are "sick", I have had to replace the battery once (today, in fact), after owning it for over a year. There are so many positives about this thermometer that I would buy it again. It is also the one that my kid's elementary school nurse uses. Why do I love it? Read on:
1. It is ACCURATE!!! I own four different digital thermometers. Three of them my kids now use to play "doctor" because they are so inaccurate. Not only do the fluxuate, but none of them match each other. Often they are off by almost a full degree from each other. How do I know, you ask? I brought my thermometers with me into the doctor's office one time when my daughter was sick. I then matched those readouts to the doctor's high tech thermometer...and only the Vick's thermometer was the same.
2. The light readout: The thermometer flashes three different lights, depending on the temperature reading. If it is above 101, it flashes RED. Between 99-100, it flashes YELLOW and under 99, it flashes GREEN. My kids know that only red gets them out of school.
2.5 In addition, I have purchased other thermometers with a "light" read-out from brand-name medical suppliers, and the light only works at the beginning of the cycle, when the thermometer either says "ok" or "low". It does not light up after it has read the temperature, meaning I have to turn on an overhead light to read it. Why bother having it light up if you can't use it to actually read the temperature? The Vicks thermometer flashes the light at the end of the reading so you can see the final result, thus allowing me to read the temperature in the middle of the night without any problem at all.
3. The memory function: When you first turn on the thermometer, it will show you the last temperature reading. Really helpful to track fevers.
4. It is fast. No more waiting forever for the readout.
I do admit that it does go through batteries, but I am very willing to pay $2.49 for a replacement battery once a year to get an accurate thermometer. Also, because it does light up both at the beginning and the end of the measuring period, you have to expect it will go through batteries faster. I don't know why the other reviewers had such trouble with their thermometers, but mine works great (this is our second one, as our first one disappeared...I am sure it is under a bed or somewhere equally as weird). I highly recommend it.

Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier with Auto Shut-Off Review

Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier with Auto Shut-Off
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I knew i needed a humidifier, as i'm just not used to the dry air of east coast winters. But after shopping around on amazon for warm mist humidifiers, i was horrified by the reviews. Every humidifier seemed to be loud, leaky, and a hassle. I ended up getting this one because of the relatively low price, thinking that if it was as bad as all the others, at least i wouldn't have spent too much on it.
I have no complaints.
On the low setting, it's about as loud as a pot of water boiling in the next room. On the high setting, it might compete with a pot of water boiling in the same room. Every once in a while it gets a bit talkative, but that's rare and doesn't last long. I'm a light sleeper, and this unit never wakes me up.
On the low setting, a full tank of water lasts a little over 24 hours. On the high setting, it goes through in about 8 to 9 hours, perfect to run overnight.
The auto-shutoff works just fine, so i don't even bother turning it off before i leave the house.
It is a bit annoying to clean the unit, but that has a lot to do with the tap water here being less than perfectly clean. We switched to using filtered water, and now the humidifier is actually our way of knowing when to change the filter. When there's build-up on the heating element, the filter isn't working as well anymore.
The daily maintenance takes no more than a few minutes. The weekly maintenance takes longer, but that's mainly because you throw some of the pieces in to soak. It's maybe 10 minutes of effort, plus however long you want to soak the pieces.
In all, i'm very glad i purchased this unit. (And the water tank isn't nearly as blue as it looks in the picture.)
