ProCheck FeverGlow Forehead Thermometer, Model FR1DV1-PRO 1 ea Review

ProCheck FeverGlow Forehead Thermometer, Model FR1DV1-PRO 1 ea

This thermometer is very easy to use, and convenient for children. A little forehead swipe, then a light-up display makes taking a sleeping baby's temperature quite simple.
This type of thermometer requires a little practice, you have to be consistent or you'll get variable readings. Playing with it on myself, after a little practice, I got readings +/- 0.1 degree, which is excellent.

This thermometer is terrible. After the original battery died, I had to special order replacement batteries. Once a new battery is installed, it lasts for one use and then the light starts flashing on the thermometer that it needs to be replaced. have not found a good replacement but this is one not worth your money or effort.

Hey Folks, I'm Peyton and I recorded a video of me using the Non-Contact at my work. I test room temp, my forehead and surface temp. One of the measurements is of the Surface Temp of the Thermometer on the wall that controls our A/C (which the boss likes to leave off). You'll see that its 100% accurate!! Great product!
Thanks for watching!

Vicks SpeedRead Digital Thermometer (Oral, Rectal, Under Arm) Review

Vicks SpeedRead Digital Thermometer (Oral, Rectal, Under Arm)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have read the other reviews complaining about the battery life and I have to say I have had the complete opposite experience. True, the battery does not last as long as other digital thermometers, but with two kids who constantly want to check to see if they are "sick", I have had to replace the battery once (today, in fact), after owning it for over a year. There are so many positives about this thermometer that I would buy it again. It is also the one that my kid's elementary school nurse uses. Why do I love it? Read on:
1. It is ACCURATE!!! I own four different digital thermometers. Three of them my kids now use to play "doctor" because they are so inaccurate. Not only do the fluxuate, but none of them match each other. Often they are off by almost a full degree from each other. How do I know, you ask? I brought my thermometers with me into the doctor's office one time when my daughter was sick. I then matched those readouts to the doctor's high tech thermometer...and only the Vick's thermometer was the same.
2. The light readout: The thermometer flashes three different lights, depending on the temperature reading. If it is above 101, it flashes RED. Between 99-100, it flashes YELLOW and under 99, it flashes GREEN. My kids know that only red gets them out of school.
2.5 In addition, I have purchased other thermometers with a "light" read-out from brand-name medical suppliers, and the light only works at the beginning of the cycle, when the thermometer either says "ok" or "low". It does not light up after it has read the temperature, meaning I have to turn on an overhead light to read it. Why bother having it light up if you can't use it to actually read the temperature? The Vicks thermometer flashes the light at the end of the reading so you can see the final result, thus allowing me to read the temperature in the middle of the night without any problem at all.
3. The memory function: When you first turn on the thermometer, it will show you the last temperature reading. Really helpful to track fevers.
4. It is fast. No more waiting forever for the readout.
I do admit that it does go through batteries, but I am very willing to pay $2.49 for a replacement battery once a year to get an accurate thermometer. Also, because it does light up both at the beginning and the end of the measuring period, you have to expect it will go through batteries faster. I don't know why the other reviewers had such trouble with their thermometers, but mine works great (this is our second one, as our first one disappeared...I am sure it is under a bed or somewhere equally as weird). I highly recommend it.

Bought it for only the medicine dropper. Works great, but 1 mL mark is difficult to read. Better than anything else that we could find as most droppers are likely toxic.

Safety 1st Hospital's Choice Complete Healthcare Kit Review

Safety 1st Hospital's Choice Complete Healthcare Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I registered for this without really thinking things through. I have been disappointed with the quality of the items. We had to use the medicine dropper when our son was only 2 weeks old, and it's very difficult to use. If you don't get the medicine dosage right the very first time, it's almost impossible to adjust it. Way too much air gets trapped inside. Additionally, it's hard to clean. As for the bulb syringe- use the one you get from the hospital. It's soooo much better. The themometer is accurate, but it doesn't beep!!! I got very frustrated trying to take my son's temperature under his arm. He was crying, and I had to keep staring at the small digital screen as well as hold him down.
The nail clippers are okay. I do like how they have a rather ergonomic handle.
Instead of buying a kit, buy what you need separately. You'll pay more, but you'll get a better product.

Kidz-Med VeraTemp 5-in-1 Non-Contact Thermometer #11900 With Pacifier Medicine Dispenser Review

Kidz-Med VeraTemp 5-in-1 Non-Contact Thermometer #11900 With Pacifier Medicine Dispenser
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Folks, this thermometer is simply fantastic. Fast, accurate, quiet.
My expectations buying it were low. We had another non-contact thermometer several years ago, and while that one wasn't very accurate or nearly as easy to use as this one, when it broke, we surely missed it. The old one had to be moved around the temple area, it would click while gathering information, and then emit a longer beep when done -- enough to sometimes wake up a baby, or attract attention of a toddler, which was what ultimately doomed it. The readings it gave were very loosely related to the actual temperature, but were useful nonetheless: by taking several measurements, and knowing what they would normally be for this particular person when healthy you could make a pretty good guess whether you should bother with a "real" thermometer. E.g. it would mostly report my temperature as 93, so 97 would be fever for me (and you'd have to do it maybe 5 times to get a somewhat consistent number anyway). But again, despite of all these shortcomings, the thermometer was quite useful, and at first I tried to find the same model, but it was discontinued (and looks like the manufacturer doesn't make household thermometers anymore).
Given that experience, this Kidz-Med thermometer now feels like magic. Fast, quiet, and you can actually trust the number displayed, the first time. I still take several measurements, because that's what I'm used to, and because it's fun, but they all come up pretty much the same (just make sure there's no hair in the way). Boy am I glad the other thermometer got discontinued.
The only negative about this thermometer is the name "5-in-1" is misleading. There's only 3 modes: body, surface, room. Sure you can scan different things in the surface mode, but then why stop at 5 -- I can come up with thousands of different surfaces to measure, doesn't make it thousands-in-1 thermometer.
