CETIRIZINE TABS 10MG OTC***KPP Review

CETIRIZINE TABS 10MG OTC***KPP
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been taking Zyrtec for year round allergies for years. I recently purchased some generic Zyrtec at my local grocery store (Shoprite) and they worked as well as Zyrtec. I did some research as to the manufacturer of the generic brand and found it was Ohm Labs. Well, Amazon sells this product from Ohm labs and at a much better price than the grocery and way below the original Zyrtec. Works just as good as the original.

Afrin Sinus 12 Hour Nasal Spray, Decongestant - .5 fl oz Review

Afrin Sinus 12 Hour Nasal Spray, Decongestant - .5 fl oz
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Over the years, I've tried a lot of different over the counter medicine products (and products in general) that don't work very well. But Afrin, I'm happy to say, is an exception. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, every time.
Sometimes during the winter I get so congested that I can't breathe at all through my nose. This means that I can't get to sleep, either, so having a product that allows me to breathe isn't just a nice convenience: it greatly enhances the quality of my life. When you're already sick, the last thing you need is to not get good sleep!
But often, with just one squirt of Afrin in each nostril, I can breathe much more easily in a matter of minutes. Even when I'm most congested, I've never used this product and not had it make me be able to breathe much more clearly so that I could get to sleep. It lasts a long time, too - long enough to get me through the night.
I highly recommend it if you're having trouble with nasal congestion.

Ayr Saline Nasal Rinse Kit Soothing Sinus Wash - Refills 51 ea Review

Ayr Saline Nasal Rinse Kit Soothing Sinus Wash - Refills 51 ea
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got one of these a couple of years ago. I have had allergies for years and recently had a series of sinus infections. I find that using this kit to flush my sinuses clears out allergens, preventing/shortening allergy attacks. It is also helpful when I get a cold or sinus infection because it flushes out much of the infection. If used regularly it would probably prevent many allergy attacks and sinus infections, by keeping down the build up of nasal nasties.

Mucinex 100 Immediate Extended Release Tablets (600mg) Review

Mucinex 100 Immediate Extended Release Tablets (600mg)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Being a long-time sinus sufferer, I found the benefits of guiafenesin years before it became "MUCINEX". Without it, my sinuses get plugged and irritated within a few days, setting me up for recurrent infections. It works as an "expectorant" which means it helps keep the mucus thinned so your sinuses can clear more easily and don't become a breeding ground for bacteria and /or viruses.
As a clinic-based, practicing RN, I know that Mucinex / guiafenesin is often recommended by physicians, and is a safe product with very few side effects or drug interactions. (NO, I'm not getting paid by anyone to say any of this!)
Mucinex in this Extended Release formula minimizes the number of daily doses down to once or twice daily depending on your personal needs. This 100 tablet bottle is definitely the cheapest way to purchase - I had been getting it at WalMart for the past few years (until my smart sister told me to check for it on Amazon :-) in the 40 tablet bottles for almost $20 per bottle!
If you have sinus problems, especially chronic ones, or are prone to recurring infections, Mucinex is certainly worth a try.

Little Noses Decongestant Nose Drops, Gentle 1/8% Formula, Infants & Children .5 fl oz (15 ml) Review

Little Noses Decongestant Nose Drops, Gentle 1/8% Formula, Infants and Children .5 fl oz (15 ml)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I picked a box of this up several years ago when my 3 yr old had a terrible cold and was up night after night crying b/c her nose was too stuffy. Coughing so badly from post nasal drip she would cause herself to vomit. I was aprehensive at first using a spray decongestant on a young child...I know first hand how quickly you can become addicted to OTC nasal sprays unfortunatly. She absolutly hated the application of this stuff, but begged me to do the other side once she reazlied it actually worked.
A year later, I was pregnant and got a terrible miserable cold and had nothing on hand, so I tried these drops and to my surprise they actually worked. Now, I know you shouldn't use things like this w/o consulting your OB to be sure, but I was desperate and close to the end of my pregnancy. If it could unplug my nose in a few minutes I'm sure it can quickly help a child.
We have moved a few times since then and we lost the bottle or threw it out and now my oldest has a terrible cold keeping her up crying at night, nothing else is helping. She begged me for the nasal drops that worked, but I cannot find them in any stores around here anymore. Figured they were pulled from the shelves. I was so happy to see them on here, I know by the time they come, she will be hopefully over this cold, but I can keep them on hand for an emergency situation in the future.

PiKo-1 Electronic Peak Flow Meter and FEV1 Meter Review

PiKo-1 Electronic Peak Flow Meter and FEV1 Meter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This little peak flow meter is very nice. I used it for my son, who had a tendency to try and trick the meters. This meter told me if he was trying to cough into the unit or fool it in some other way. It's small and compact and stores 99 previous readings. I program it to tell me when he is in the yellow or red zone so I can hear it beep when he blows.
The biggest drawback, and the only reason I am not giving a 5 star rating, is the Pikonet software and USB device fails to function properly to download my son's readings. That was one of the reasons I bought this unit, to better track his progress.
PROS:
+ I can get more accurate readings because my son is not able to fool the unit by coughing into it or tonguing it.
+ It stores 99 previous readings.
+ It beeps when the patient is in the yellow or red zone.
+ It is small and compact.
CONS:
- The Pikonet software and USB device do not work to download my son's Piko readings.
SUMMARY
This is an excellent unit as a standalone peak flow meter. Just don't expect the computer connectivity that is advertised.

Vicks VapoSteam Liquid Medication, Camphor Cough Suppressant 8 fl oz (236 ml) Review

Vicks VapoSteam Liquid Medication, Camphor Cough Suppressant 8 fl oz (236 ml)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This product helped my 3 year old son with a nasty cough sleep during the night and a nap mid-day. His cough was so bad for 3 days he was not sleeping at night and he could not fall asleep for his daily 3 hour nap. We tried giving him honey, childrens tylenol before he went down, but he would not fall asleep. You put 1 tbsp per quart of water used in the Vicks vaporizer. It mixed with the water and came out as steam in his room. Going in his room there was a very heavy vicks smell, but it did the trick. He slept an hour past his usual wake up time this morning, and just now he slept an hour and a half later than he usually does for his nap. Highly recommended since you can't give your kids cold medicine at this young age.
Used this mixed in the water with the Vicks 1.5 Gallon Vaporizer with Night-Light

Voldyne Volumetric Incentive Spirometer Review

Voldyne Volumetric Incentive Spirometer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am recovering from pneumonia and my PCP recommended I get an Incentive Spirometer due to bring mostly bedridden post-surgery. I had no idea what kind or size to get and relied mostly on Amazon reviews. I was not disappointed in any way with this unit or with Medical Department Stores who shipped it within 12 hours and I got it with free shipping in only 3 business days.
An IS is a very simple plastic device. Not much to go wrong unless it cracks. I discovered, after receiving this 5000ml capacity model that my "normal" value should be about 3250ml. Most of the other units on Amazon top out at 2500ml. For the record, I am a 40 year old, 6'1" male. According to the charts I've seen, 2500ml is only enough to measure someone who is 5'5" or shorter.

Perrigo Cetirizine Hydrochloride Tablets, 10mg 300 ea Review

Perrigo Cetirizine Hydrochloride Tablets, 10mg 300 ea
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am a board certified allergist in Cleveland Ohio. I have both purchased this product and recommended it to many of my patients. It works very well and is a fraction of the cost of namebrand Zyrtec.
Cetirizine is slightly more effective than loratidine (Claritin) and is slightly more sedating. Therefore I usually have patients take it after dinner time - but it is not highly sedating and some people don't even notice it.
Overall a very good product.

NeilMed's Sinus Rinse NasaFlo Neti Pot 8 oz (240 ml) Review

NeilMed's Sinus Rinse NasaFlo Neti Pot 8 oz (240 ml)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Used for 2 weeks. Can't use it if you have totally blocked sinus but can be used if you feel cold or allergies coming and you have some airflow. Strange to use at first. Solution comes in through one nostril, rinses sinus cavity, goes out the other nostril. Can see on youtube people demonstrating its use. Little kids don't seem to have problems. Measured out 8 oz. distilled water, microwave 15 seconds, and swirled the water for a few seconds to even the temperature out. Used the included packets and the formula works well. You can make your own but be sure to use pure salt (kosher or pickle) instead of table salt. To make an isotonic (equal to body salinity) solution, use about 1/4 tsp salt, tiny pinch of baking soda, 8 oz of lukewarm distilled water. People on the Internet use a lot of different recipes but this one works for me.

Tylenol Severe Allergy Antihistamine & Pain Relief Caplets - 24 ea Review

Tylenol Severe Allergy Antihistamine and Pain Relief Caplets - 24 ea
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For the most part, I never suffer from allergies, but the past two years, I've been suffering with itchy watery eyes and non-stop sneezing - it appears I'm making up for a lifetime of being allergy free.
I've been to the doctor and have been given prescriptions for just about every allergy pill on the market - Allegra, Zyrtec, Claritin, Flonase, Nasacort and Claranex - none of them worked.
Tylenol Severe Allergy caplets CAN make you drowsy, but they have never knocked me for a loop - if anything, the relief of allergy symptoms makes it easier to concentrate on work. It's best to take them with a full meal so the drowsy effects don't hit you like a ton of bricks, but rather gently over the day.

NeilMed Sinus Rinse Regular Kit 1 kit Review

NeilMed Sinus Rinse Regular Kit 1 kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My story is like many others. I have allergies, and increasingly frequent sinus infections drove me to try this kit (which a sinus surgeon nurse gave me something like 3 years ago and it sat in a drawer in the bathroom till this summer).
Well, it is pretty weird to think about shooting water up your nose (childhood memories of turning upside down in the pool surfaced--ouch) but I finally got desperate enough to try it. And it does feel pretty weird the first few times, but I am now using this twice a day almost every day. It actually feels really good and it is amazing how much gunk comes out even when I feel relatively clear. It's not as entertaining as a Biore strip, but hey, what is?
Here are a few thoughts that are more random than the numbering might indicate:
1. I aim the nozzle tip at the opposite eye rather than straight up, and that seems to rinse better and not give me the upside-down-in-the-pool headache. The headache did happen a couple of times when I first was learning to use it and it hurts just like I remembered. Once I figured out the right angle it doesn't happen, so don't let that deter you.
2. It does travel easily, but my main problem is either being able to boil water or getting distilled water. I do not use water straight from the tap at home (boiling water at home no problem as I have an electric kettle) or traveling (one hotel I stay at frequently has very moldy pipes--can I shoot what I'm allergic to directly into my sinuses? Can I?), and that is the one pita. Otherwise, the packets and bottle are easy. I even carry a dry dock with me to hang it up on the mirror in the hotel.
3. The great thing about this kit is the pressure and speed it moves the saline solution. It actually is kind of "over before you know it." Sometimes one rinse doesn't feel like enough. I tried the 16 oz bottle and the pressure is not as strong. Now I just refill the 8oz if needed and use it twice in one session.
4. Hypertonic (green) vs. isotonic (blue--the ones that come with this kit) saline packets: I use both and don't really know that one helps more than the other. The green can be used with the 16oz bottle to make the regular solution or the 8 oz bottle to make the hypertonic (concentrated) solution. The green sometimes burns a bit. I'm still experimenting.
5. Definitely follow the instructions on heating up the water in the bottle. I fried one bottle because I didn't test my previously boiled water to see how hot it was before I put it in the micro. Normally about 35 seconds gets room temperature water to a good nasal rinse temp for me, but since the boiled water was already warm it got too hot.
6. People will think it quite strange if you give this as gifts. I tried to tell them that "Santa and I were worried about your sinuses" and it just didn't fly.
7. I find the packaging hilariously cheesy, almost like the Dr. Bronner's liquid soap labels (though definitely not as trippy). Don't ever change, Sinus Rinse!
Overall, I am very pleased with this product and think of using it like I think about washing my face, brushing and flossing (though it is recommended that you do this several hours before bed so you don't get a lot of drainage when you lie down--plus you want to allow a little time if you use a spray like Flonase, so I try to do this in the early evening). I have one at home and one for travel, and sadly for the recipients, have given some as gifts.
Oh well, they'll thank me when they pull it out of their bathroom drawer in a couple of years.

Ridgecrest Herbals Clear Lungs, Extra Strength, Vegetarian Capsules Review

Ridgecrest Herbals Clear Lungs, Extra Strength, Vegetarian Capsules
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Discovered Clear Lungs at Whole Foods in Austin, TX, when a bout of bronchitis wouldn't go away. About 15 mins. after taking, actually FELT the phlegm loosening in my chest! After 2 days of taking 2 capsules every 4-6 hrs (instead of prescription expectorant), I was cleared out.
Showed my internist, who said to use it if it works - and the herbs could only be beneficial. All natural, and works better than other expectorants!
Am on my second bout of bronchitis in 3 months, but it's much lighter, which I'm attributing to continued use of ClearLungs. I have already recommended it to others with respiratory infections & all said it helped.
