(More customer reviews)Sitting here, right now, by my child's bedside, well after the time she should be asleep, having endured 45 minutes of her constant sniffing, moaning at the misery of nasal congestion, sitting up and trying to blow her nose repeatedly, and complaints of nearly total blockage (which I could hear for myself).
Gave her five pellets of Sinusalia (we prefer the pellets to the tablets, like another reviewer) after she sat up and asked for them, based on her perception that they made a big difference last night (I hadn't really remembered that, though I was trying every trick in the book, so she could sleep). She dropped the 5 pellets into her mouth.
Five minutes--yes, FIVE MINUTES--later, she is asleep, breathing absolutely silently and clearly through her nose, something that sounded and seemed impossible only 10 minutes ago.
This stuff is AMAZING. And without side effects or any negative drug-related effects. I'm sold.

(More customer reviews)Over the years, I've tried a lot of different over the counter medicine products (and products in general) that don't work very well. But Afrin, I'm happy to say, is an exception. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, every time.
Sometimes during the winter I get so congested that I can't breathe at all through my nose. This means that I can't get to sleep, either, so having a product that allows me to breathe isn't just a nice convenience: it greatly enhances the quality of my life. When you're already sick, the last thing you need is to not get good sleep!
But often, with just one squirt of Afrin in each nostril, I can breathe much more easily in a matter of minutes. Even when I'm most congested, I've never used this product and not had it make me be able to breathe much more clearly so that I could get to sleep. It lasts a long time, too - long enough to get me through the night.
I highly recommend it if you're having trouble with nasal congestion.

(More customer reviews)I've had a few severe head colds this winter, and this is by far the best thing that I have used. I've tried many different syrups, pills, drops, etc from various brands, and this has been by far the most effective. The taste is pleasant - it's nice to have something other than the standard cherry, grape, or dreaded black licorice flavors - and I love the addition of Vicks, too. It also kicks in quickly and, though it doesn't always last the full four hours between doses, it does seem to last a lot longer than the standard cold syrup. This has really helped me get through the day a lot easier, and will definitely be my first choice for head colds from now on. If you're looking for something to really help with severe congestion and, as a result of that, phlegm and mucus buildup in the throat, definitely give this a try.

After much research she decided to order the Complete Neti Pot set from Himalayn Institute. The kit comes with a ceramic pot, noniodized salt and zinc suspension. After overcoming the initial strangeness of having water pour from your nostrils, we have both come to feel the benefits of this system, and now we Neti daily.
I wish that it came with a greater supply of the zinc suspension and/or salt.

Get some of this Salve and rub it on the bottoms of their feet (and possibly a small dot of it on their chests). Put socks on their feet.
Voila... they can sleep.
Nontoxic compared to Vicks with petroleum jelly.
For babies this should not be used. Use the Nosefrida from Sweden. Gets the gunk out better and less violently than the bulb syringe thingy.

BUT, the maximum strength is so strong that it completely dried out my whole nasal passage and I could not breathe through my nose. Also, when I cough, it burns my chest because it is so dry. I would recommend that you start with the regular formula, before trying the maximum strength. If regular works for you, stick with it.

(More customer reviews)I have used extended release guaifenesin (the active drug in Mucinex) for many years to help with sinus drainage and chronic bronchitis. It really works to clear out the lungs and my MD tells me it helps reduce sinus drainage as well. I stocked up on the prescription form of guaifenesin just before the FDA pulled all extended release guaifenesin from the market except for Mucinex. The reason for this action was somewhat esoteric and it allowed Mucinex to have a monopoly on the extended release form. Well, my horde of prescription guaifenesin finally ran out and I started using Mucinex. It works that same as the old prescription drugs because it is the same thing (they are both extended release guaifenesin). But, Mucinex is very expensive. So, I switched to immediate relase guaifenesin and found that it works just as well at a significant cost savings. The only thing is that you will have to take more immediate release tablets to equal a 12-hour extended release tablet. If you can't let go of the Mucinex, consider taking the immediate release during the day and Mucinex at night. You will save a lot of money. Mucinex is the only extended release tablet on the market. So, if it is guaifenesin and it is not Mucinex then it is an immediate release tablet. Check the price differences.
