Children Claritin's 5mg Grape Chewables, 10 ct Tablets (Pack of 2) Review

Children Claritin's 5mg Grape Chewables, 10 ct Tablets (Pack of 2)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My child's pediatrician usually recommends taking a holistic approach in treating cold or allergy symptoms. I usually agree with her that side effects from many medicines are worse than the condition they are treating.
Additionally, my children don't usually like the taste or form of most medicines.
This is why I'm so thankful we got to try Children's Claritin Grape Chewables through my being a BzzAgent. My child likes the flavor and the all-day relief from runny nose and watery eyes that she gets without drowsiness!
I would give this the very highest rating if it would also work as a decongestant, since it seems to me that stuffiness is also a part of allergies.

Being allergic to corn, this is about the only non-drowsy allergy medication I could find that does not contain a corn by-product (starch, syrup). It's taste is not unpleasant and is a good treatment for those with allergies to inactive ingredients found in most allergy products.

Claritin- 24 Hour Allergy Non Drowsey, 60 Tabs (2 Month Supply) Review

Claritin- 24 Hour Allergy Non Drowsey, 60 Tabs (2 Month Supply)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Claritin (Loratadine) is an antihistamine that is used for typical allergy symptoms, such as a stuffy or runny nose, itchy watery eyes, scratchy throat (due to allergies), and rashes, itching, and hives. (It can also be used in some cases to limit asthma attacks).
Antihistamines block the release of histamine, a naturally occurring substance in the body that produces all the allergy symptoms we want to get rid of.
There are several antihistamines you can purchase over the counter, Claritin (Loratadine) is a second generation antihistamine, and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is the older first generation product. Claritin will be more expensive, as it is the newer of the two. Loratadine is also available as a cheaper generic product and is just as effective as the Brand name products of Claritin and Alavert.
The usual dose of Loratadine is 10 mg a day. This offers an advantage over the first generation antihistamines (Benadryl), in that they are dosed every 8 hours. The main and most significant advantage of Loratadine over the first generation antihistamines is that Loratadine will not cause drowsiness and has less overall side effects and less adverse interactions with other medications (and alcohol).
People with liver disease should discuss the use of Loratadine with their doctor. Pregnant women should avoid using Loratadine as studies have shown a risk to the fetus.
Claritin (Loratadine) is very effective in treating allergy symptoms. I like the non-sedating quality and the once daily dosing.

Claritin Childrens, 24 Hour Allergy Relief, Great Grape Liquid - 2 Oz Review

Claritin Childrens, 24 Hour Allergy Relief, Great Grape Liquid - 2 Oz
Average Reviews:

I love Claritin as it has worked wonders for my 4 year old son, who suffers from seasonal allergies...but he along with his 5 year old sister refuse to take this liquid Claritin because they claim it is "yuck". I have tried it myself and find that it does have a slight medicine taste. Because of that "yuck" taste, my children prefer the Claritin RediTabs. Those are so expensive that I went to our childrens pediatrician in search of a cheaper method to treat their allergies and I was informed that the childrens dosage contains 5mg of the active ingredient and the adult dosage contains 10mg...thus cutting the adult RediTab in 1/2 results in the same dosage as the childrens formula. This has been a wonderful help in paying for my son's Claritin because an adult box of 30 RediTabs lasts him 60 days for the same price as a childrens box of 20 chewable tablets. Now, I am no doctor and am only relaying to you what my childs pediatrician said was OK to do. :-)

If you are reading the reviews on Claritin, you probably already know it is a wonderful allergy medication, so my review isn't really on the Claritin itself. My son, who is 4, suffers from seasonal allergies. The children's Claritin works great for him, but it is so expensive that I went to our family pediatrician in search of a cheaper method. His pediatrician informed me that the childrens Claritin contains 5mg of the active ingredient, and the adult RediTabs contains 10mg...thus cutting the RediTab in half results in the same dosage as the childrens. This has been a wonderful help in paying for my son's Claritin because an adult box of 30 RediTabs (this listing is for a 50ct box) lasts him 60 days for the same price as a childrens box of 20 chewable tablets. Now, I am no doctor and am only relaying to you what my childs pediatrician said was OK to do. :-)

My children all suffer from seasonal allergies & allergy season has definitely arrived with spring at our house. They complain of itchy, watery eyes, sneezing & runny noses. I am a BzzAgent & received Claritin Grape Chewables as part of my BzzKit, so we gave it a try the next time an allergy attack hit. My kids liked taking it, but even better, it works great. I gave them Claritin before school & they said they were allergy-free the rest of the day.

Average Reviews:

I had been using a different allergy medicine for my 2yr old son. Needless to say that it was not working that well and in the process was making my son drowsy even though it was marketed as Non-drowsy. I am a BzzAgent and I was excepted into the Children's Claritin Campaign I was excited to try something new but not really holding my breath for good results. Well, I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. It worked so well and didn't make him drowsy within about thirty minutes he was back outside and playing again. I will never buy another allergy product again. Only Claritin for this family! My only gripe is that it doesn't come in any other flavors other than grape, and my son isn't to crazy about grape flavored. I wish they had bubblegum. Thats why I didn't give it a whole five stars they need to expand there flavors. :) I'am a BzzAgent and I received this product for free to review.

My doctor suggested I start taking Claritin. I knew nothing about it, and was surprised to learn that I needed a product like this. The pharmacy pointed out that I could purchase the generic Claritin. That's how I discovered Loratadine. This product does not raise blood pressure, which is an issue for me as well. It seems to be working just fine.

Claritin Allergy Liqui-Gels 10mg
Average Reviews:

Be very careful when ordering. The shipped claritin has only a few months of shelf life left and it is mentioned nowhere in the offering. It usually is not a problem, but I ordered a few packets. If you order these, do not order more than just one box!!! Otherwise a great price. I give it two stars b/c it should be mentioned somewhere that the packets are very old and only have 2-3 month before expiring.

Zyrtec Allergy Relief (10 mg) Review

Zyrtec Allergy Relief (10 mg)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Zyrtec 10 mg tablets are truly a godsend! I suffer from allergies almost year round; and when I take a Zyrtec pill things calm down pretty quickly. I am soon able to breathe through my nose and my eyes aren't so irritated. In addition, Zyrtec is absolutely essential for me; I sometimes play with my neighbor's dogs but because I am still mildly allergic to the dogs' pet dander and fur I use these Zyrtec pills to alleviate my symptoms from playing with the dogs.
The tablets work for just about twenty-four hours just like the makers advertise it to work; but if things aren't quite OK even with the Zyrtec I sometimes pop another--with my doctor's "OK," that is. This drug does not make me drowsy the way other allergy medicines can; and I really like that.
Zyrtec is also supposed to stop the itching that comes with hives; but I can't comment on that because I have not needed to take this for hives. I also don't experience itchy eyes but I would imagine that this product would alleviate that problem.
Of course, follow the directions on the bottle very carefully; and don't take more than the recommended dose unless you get the "OK" from your doctor. If you have any questions or concerns about this product ask your doctor first before taking this medicine. In addition, use these tablets before their expiration date.
Overall, Zyrtec tablets really help immeasurably when I need to fight allergy symptoms from pet fur and dander, dust, or pollen. I highly recommend this product!

Claritin 24 Hour Allergy, Tablets Review

Claritin 24 Hour Allergy, Tablets
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Claritin (Loratidine) is a medication in the class of anti-histamines. Histamine is a chemical in our cells that is released during an allergy attack. Histamine causes all the symptoms of allergies: sneezing, nasal congestion, itching, hives, etc. Being an anti-histamine, Claritin blocks the action of histamine in the body.
Claritin replaced Benadryl (Diphenhydramine) as the #1 doctor prescribed allergy medication, the reason being that Claritin does not have any drowsiness as a side-effect like Benadryl has. Benadryl has very significant sleepiness as a side-effect, and this limited its use in people who needed to operate cars, machinery, or needed to have full-attention in their jobs. The sleepiness of Benadryl was so marked, that manufacturers marketed it as a sleeping aid! (Diphenhydramine is the component in Tylenol PM or Excedrine PM, it is also in all the sleeping pill formulations). Fortunately for allergy sufferers, Claritin has no sleepiness as a side-effect, in fact, Claritin has virtually NO side effects, which makes it an excellent medication to take if you are taking other medications as well. Plus, Claritin WORKS to counter allergy symptoms. I developed a form of full-body hives that persisted for over a year, and Claritin was a God-send for me. Without Claritin, my life would have been miserable.
Up until a few years ago, Claritin was a prescription medication and was the mainstay for doctors to prescribe for allergies. Once its potential for abuse was determined to be nil, and its safety factor proven, it was released on the market as an over-the-counter allergy medication.
Claritin still is expensive, as the medication is still "owned" by a major drug company. Until its lease expires and it can be marketed as the generic Loratidine, consumers will have to ante up the money if they want the best over-the-counter allergy medication available. If you can't or won't afford Claritin, then the cheaper alternative is Benedryl (Diphenhydramine), and you put up with the drowsiness.
Hope this helps.

This is not a review on how Claritin works, just the product being cheaper than in my local store.
I was leary of ordering pills online but trust Amazon for everything.
Cheaper than my store (1/3 the price)
Product arrived quickly (allergy season)
Product was still in date (about a year and a few months from expire)
Product was retaped but each piece was sealed and dated (All good)
I would have done 5 stars but looked very closely after the tape was not the factory deal.
Saved money and will buy again, will look for Amazon free shipping first since they are the most reliable...
