(More customer reviews)I don't have horrible acne but my forehead has always been oily and I get flair ups and get some natsty ones once in a while. The last couple of years it's gotten slightly worse. I've tried numerous things over the years. Clearasil cream, pads, various 3 part systems, washing my face numerous times a day, etc. Nothing worked. I stumbled on this on sale tucked away in a bottom shelf at the store. Thought I'd try it. Taking the pills alone my skin has totally cleared up and I haven't had any blemishes. This is one of the best homeopathic products I've ever used.

Neutrogena Complete Acne Therapy System Review

(More customer reviews)First off, I'm in my early 20's and have combination type skin with occasional, mild to moderate acne. I used nearly two whole ProActiv systems before switching to a Neutrogena kit and have found that this clears up my skin much better and faster. I find it very convenient that the Day Lotion includes SPF 15, whereas the ProActiv Repairing Lotion doesn't, even though ProActiv advises you to use sunscreen with their system when going outside. That would probably prompt you to buy their oil-free moisturizer with SPF 15 as well ($$ smart business move $$), thus adding another step to your skin-care regimen. I would recommend anyone with my acne/skin type who is thinking about subscribing to ProActiv to try Neutrogena first.
Anyway, the Neutrogena kit lasts around 5 months for me. I still get an occasional zit or two, but with less frequency than I did in the past. I use a Neutrogena Rapid Clear spot gel for that with success.
Word of advice: It might be best if you shake the tube of acne cleanser before you start using it. When I was finishing up what was left of the last tube I used, I discovered that all the "micro-fine beads" were gathered there, afloat at the very top somehow. I've been wondering where those were all along...

(More customer reviews)I'm one of those lucky ones that really is sensitive to poison ivy (or oak or sumac, take your pick). The urishol oil spreads like wildfire on my skin. At the moment, I use 3 different products, two made by Tec, like the one here.
Pro:
-Great for itch relief, feels cool to the touch... aaah, feels so good!
-Lifts/traps irritant oils as it slowly dries
-Also claims that it also has antiseptic properties, so if you've scratched you can try to avoid an infection
-Been around for years, at least it was on the shelves in 2001 when I first purchased Calagel
-Light odor and no discoloration of skin or clothes... no "pink stuff" like Mom's old-fashioned product
-Cap is well-designed and does not leak if I take it with me on the road
-If you look carefully, you get a free trial-size sample of "Tecnu" bundled with this Calagel package

Bottom line: Highly recommended. Been using it since 2001 and I love it. I use it about every 3 hours and apply it several times in a row if needed. Once it starts itching, it's harder to stop it, so do it more often. See our other poison ivy relief favorites.

I got a tube and began applying to a scar I had from something the dermatologist snipped off about a year ago. That scar, though small, was puffy and had been itching ever since the procedure. After about three weeks of applying Kelocote to my scar, the swelling was gone and it was no longer itchy. It also is no longer bright red. I don't know what is in it, and I don't have any idea how it works, but it definitely works. Almost wish I had another scar so I can use the rest of the tube!

I previously tried every over the counter cream and sheet and even an expensive cream from my dermatologist. Nothing worked. My scar was over three years old and I had nearly given up hope when my doctor recommended trying Scaraway sheets. After just a few days my scar was noticeably softer and after a few weeks, the itching was gone and it was flatter and less red. After 10 weeks I cannot believe the results. My scar has virtually vanished. All that is left is a faint whitish line, but it blends with my skin and is no longer raised up and thick, and no one points it out anymore. These sheets were very easy to use compared to other scar treatments I've tried. I just put it on my scar after showering and sometimes just left the sheet on for days, opting to cover it when I shower instead of taking it off like directions say to do. I am extremely pleased with this product, and thrilled to be able to wear certain clothes again after years of covering up my scar. :) My only negative is that it was hard to find, so, I'm glad I found this!

A good double-edge (DE) razor, brush, shaving soap and a little practice is all that's needed to experience the exceptional closeness that just can't be had with those battery operated, 5-blade monstrosities. With this resurgence in wet-shaving comes the increase in those little nicks and cuts that will inevitably happen and that's why this little Pinaud Styptic Pencil is great to have on hand when it does.
Essentially it looks and feels like a piece of chalk but it's made of alum. For a cut or nick, lightly wet the end and apply. You don't have to keep it pressed there. Just dab it and you're done. It's that fast. It works by constricting the blood vessels to stop bleeding and then it leaves a little white residue over the cut to seal further. Wash off the pencil and then dry it off and it's ready for the next time. I keep mine within easy reach while shaving. After a few minutes I'll wipe off the white residue and I'm good as new. If you've ever seen anyone tear off those little pieces of toilet paper and stick to their face, please get them this.
I bought mine locally at Wal-Mart and the cost was only around 1 dollar. Check out the top shelf on the shaving aisle and if they don't have it you might want to request it. I think soon we're going to start seeing more and more of these old products become popular again. My Pinaud Styptic Pencil did not come in a tube but there is nothing to spill, it's very small and very convenient. I will have to slightly disagree with the product description in that there is a VERY SLIGHT sting. It's not much but it is there.
Whatever method you prefer to whack the little hairs off your face and neck, no shaving kit should be without this...ask your grandfather.

Kelo-cote for scars Review

(More customer reviews)I had a bilateral arm lift at Thanksgiving 2007. At one of my post-op visits my surgeon asked me if I would be willing to test the Kelo-cote, doing only one arm for 45 days or so. We selected my left arm which was also the arm that looked "worse". I used kelo-cote each day applying it after my shower. I experienced a definite difference within 7 days and was dumbfounded.
My son, who is an amateur photographer, recorded the progress in healing taking photos of my arms every seven days. By the end of 30 days I was telling my co-workers, my primary care doc, even my dermatologist how fantastic and dramatic the difference was. My dermo was so impressed he contacted the company rep to order it for his patients.
My plastic surgeon is just amazed at the results and I am now applying Kelo-cote to both arms for the next 45 days. I highly recommend it. A little goes a long way and I am going to order additional tubes to use on some of my older scars. It's worth every darned penny.
