(More customer reviews)I recently purchased Apex Pocket Med Pack with 7 Day Tray for my daily pills, and needed to find something for my emergency pills. After looking at several other boxes, some in a reasonable price range and some very much not, I settled on this one. I just received it in the mail today...
It is absolutely beautiful, especially for a pill box. It feels sturdy all around and is quite heavy. The medallion is a metallic gray-blue enamel, the innermost design a lighter and more greenish shade. there are small dots in the pattern that - from far away - look like tiny crystals. On much, much closer inspection (about an inch from my face) they appear to be made of bits of silver glitter. They catch the light so well, that they are easily mistaken for tiny crystals.
The medallion is covered in a thick protective coat of what looks and feels like a scratch-resistant material that feels like is also thinly applied to the rest of the box. The latch is somewhat hard to depress, but this adds assurance that it will not pop open in a purse. the mirror inside was a nice touch.
This is quite a nice pillbox. I'm sure this box could be used to carry your favorite shade of eyeshadow, or a small tub of tinted lip balm when not being used for medication.

Sometimes, some of the pills go flying when he tries to get them out of the slot. His fingers are a little wider than average, I think. I take a pretty complete vitamin regemin, including thrice-a-day Flaxseed and CLA, which are very large pills. This lets me carry a full days pills in one, compartamentalized container without a problem. My only gripes are that the closure is very minimal, resulting in open compartments in my pockets sometimes, and that I had to pay as much to ship the darn thing as I did to buy it.

My mom does not like anything that you really have to "figure out" so I was a little leary about sending it to her without me figuring it out first and then sending it to her (I live in Seattle and she lives in St. Joseph, Missouri). But I was pleasantly surprised that when she received it, she figured it out herself. This has been so nice for her to have, she had been having a lot of trouble remembering to take her afternoon and evening pills but now, with this vibrating pill box, she has hardly missed a dosage. I gave it five stars because it was easy for her to set up by herself, it's been constant and has had no problems. It also takes a lot of worry off my shoulders that she has not been taking the medicine the way she should, so I know if she has this with her that she will take it 98% of the time. Of course she takes so many pills that they would not fit in the pill compartment but she just keeps her big pill dispenser with it all the times. It's great to have, especially for the senior in your life that might be having some memory problems OR even the extremely busy person that needs to take an afternoon or evening pill and keeps forgetting - I plan to order one for myself just for that reason.

When I saw this behemoth of a pillbox, I was curious and had to explore it more and read about it. I took the plunge and ordered one since I have problems with short term memory and sometimes forget if I have taken medications or not. This box leaves no room for wondering.
It's LARGE. But it's worth every inch of the space. Take the time once a month to fill it up (or fill it up weekly) and you will be all set. If you have a partner to help you, all the better.
What a great invention. Green means "go" (the pillbox is ready) and red means "empty". Simple and ingenious.
This works great for me.

I wanted a 4-week storage compartment to hold my pills, but all the ones I found locally that had 28 compartments also had them stamped "Morning, Noon, Evening, Night", which I wasn't comfortable with. These are instead stamped "Sunday / Week 1", "Monday / Week 1", etc. and ending with "Saturday / Week 4", which is precisely what I wanted.
The compartments open from different directions - the yellow and purple outside rows open from the outside towards the center; the red and blue inside rows open from the inside towards the outside. The latches are firm and the unit is sturdy - when I've turned the unit upside down to get at stubborn "sticky" pills that don't want to come out, none of the compartments have accidentally opened. The unit is fairly roomy - I've got 7 pills of various sizes in these right now, and I think I could easily fit another 4-7 more, depending on size.
I'm happy with this - it's exactly what I wanted.
