I feel great about giving it to her because it is all natural and really does soothe her cough and sore throat. We will be using this product for a long time even after she is old enough for over-the-counter cough medicines. I like the thought that we are not giving her something with a lot of additives.

(More customer reviews)I understand where the first commentater with the 1-star rating may be coming from. However, the user must understand how this Homeopathic medicine works. Arnica Montana does exactly what it says, only not like Allopathic drugs. Used in conjunction with the Arnica Gel when an injury has occured - bruising, swelling and pain is essentially minimalized or stopped. The pellets work internally, and are gentle, the gel works topically with no odor or stickiness.
This combination is what i use for myself and my children- twin boys under 2yrs old, who are constantly getting bumps and falls. Just over the weekend, my son ran out a slider door onto a concrete patio , landed flat on his forhead. We immediately used Arnica Gel and pellets on the heavily dented area on his forhead that was starting to swell, and continued that every hour or so for the next day as needed, and my son had virtually no swelling and no bruising.
I personally use the pellets if my muscles are sore, I describe their effectiveness by : after taking them, i go about my day, and notice later on that i haven't had a complaining thought about the pain i was feeling before...i do find i take more doses than i would an nsaid, but it works.

Over the course of a flu bug it really reduces the time they feel ill. Besides having them chew the tablet you can dissolve it in a little amount of water and get the same results. I use the dissolve method quite often, as my little one when feeling ill refuses the tablet but will drink water.

After researching what was available I choose this one, as I've used Boiron remedies for years and it seemed to include a good selection of what you'd need for traveling or dorm life!
It's about the size of a thick trade paperback, very well padded with a nice zipper and includes twenty 30c remedies. Many of the basic ones you'd need for colds, flu's, stomachaches or injuries. It even has a little booklet with the remedies listed and what each are for.
The price is very reasonable too, just the remedies alone cost more then this kit. Great to carry when you travel or to add to that care package for your college student.

I had this heavy cough, like I wasn't coughing up anything, but I could tell that there was something that was hiding in my throat.........After the FIRST DOSE, I began to feel the mucus in my nose move and I started actually blowing stuff out of my nose for once. After a couple more doses, my cough became productive. I have been on this stuff for a few days now and I think that my congestion is just about taken care of. Now I still have a nagging cough, but it has become less and less frequent. I think that it will eventually go away whenever my body has finished clearing everything out. I had already been to the doctor, who gave me antibiotics and a bunch of tylenol-guaifenesin-phenylephrine tablets. The antibiotics helped, but the tablets helped only marginally and did not break up the congestion. Chestal did. I have never written a review on a product; I just got online to find out where to get more so that I'm prepared for the next time I'm sick (my boyfriend brought this product to me -- he also gave me this bug in the first place). If you're contemplating whether or not to try this, just go for it. You have nothing to lose. Plus it has no nasty taste to it! Remember to take it as directed -- I had to put it in my backpack so that I wouldn't skip any doses while in class all day long! Oh, yeah, and I'm in pharmacy school. WebMD and the Mayo Clinc.com or wherever else you look won't endorse homeopathic remedies because pharmaceutical companies don't make money off of people purchasing them. And just because there hasn't been a formal study on the use and effectiveness on the product does NOT mean that it doesn't work. Do your own research and find out what is safe and effective for you. TRY IT. That's all.

I like Cherry Vicks but they weren't working for me, and they are mostly candy. My friend says Botano Throat lozenges taste a little like raisins, which I think is accurate. They are good - sweet, no menthol, and not a bit like Vicks.
Anyway, I had been coughing for about 2 weeks. It started as a cold, went into my chest, and then didn't go away. I switched to the Botano Throat lozenges and it stopped my cough, which went away for good in about 2 days. This stuff is a little more expensive, but compare that to a week or 2 of coughing. It's worth it.

(More customer reviews)When my baby was 6 months old and started daycare, she got the nastiest string of colds that eventually led to a double ear infection. I did everything I was supposed to do with what we had to work with considering you can't medicate a baby's cold symptoms. We did bathroom steam treatments, had a humidifier going, elevated one end of the baby's mattress, etc. We, of course, also started her on antibiotics when the ear infections cropped up.
I searched high and low for a homeopathic treatment that I could use to help with some of Baby's symptoms since she was battling these colds for 6 weeks and more. Once we started the Natra Bio, her cold symptoms subsided within 4 days. I was skeptical still because I thought the cold was probably ending anyway.
Fast forward to 10 months of age, Baby got another cold. I started the Natra Bio at the first sniffle. It never got worse. She had some congestion, but nothing like a runny nose. She had a slight cough, but it didn't keep her up at night. She maintained her appetite and was a happy baby through the day. Since the cold never worsened, it didn't give her body a chance to develop an ear infection.
Who's really to know if Natra Bio works or if it's all sheer coincidence. I would have chalked it up to coincidence after the one time, but since it helped again...well, I'm very happy I have this on hand. I will buy replacements when we're close to running out.
By the way, the directions say to give this every 20 minutes until symptoms subside. I've never given this more than 3 times in an hour and then every few hours thereafter. With the most recent cold, I only gave it once in the morning before daycare and then once before bed.
Other pros - baby always takes it without a fight, so it can't taste that bad. The dosage is .5ml, not much to give.

Hyland's - Arnica Montana 30x, 250 tablets Review

(More customer reviews)I was at a plastic surgeon's office one day, learning a technique in skin care. He told the patient that she needed to buy some of this "Arnica Montanicum" so that her bruising would resolve quickly. He told the next patient that if he used this orally BEFORE and AFTER surgery there was a good chance he would bruise less. I sort of stored the information away and later got a tube of it as a gel with a free little bottle of the pills in a gift pack.
AMAZING. Bruises that looked deep and purple, like blueberries at the crook of my arm, were just pale yellow and barely visible in 48 hours.
The next month, I tried the little pills, thinking they wouldn't really work as well. (I had given my gel to a friend with a huge, nasty bruise but knew I was going to have a horrible bruise after walking into the bureau. HARD.) I kept up the dosing as they taste just fine (little bits of sugar actually) and was amazed at how my muscle pain resolved quickly (I hadn't even counted on that) and I never did form a real bruise. As I take aspirin, I used to always have bruises all over me. I don't have a bruise on me today.
BTW, the surgery patient went back to her eye doctor and he said "Wow! You don't have a bruise on you. That's amazing."
She told him she took the Arnica and he smiled. Then he had to make the typical allopathic comment about "No controlled studies proving Arnica's utility."
Right, unless you count the 100 + years of Homeopathic experience with it. So patronizing, some of these guys.

The only reason, Mr. M.D., that there isn't a "controlled study", at least one you might have read, is that there isn't any huge money in it for the pharmaceutical giants.
So, this is not to be construed as medical advice, but if you would like to try something benign to avoid or treat bruising and pain, give it a try.
Remember to always tell your doctor and pharmacist about herbal or homeopathic meds!

(More customer reviews)We've been using Hyland's C-Plus Cold Tablets for our little man with this current cold of his and given he's at the tail end of his cold it's hard to determine if these tablets actually work better than the Hyland's or if he's just almost over it. Regardless, the product seems to work at least as well as the Hyland's tablets.
Some items of note:
-these tablets are very, very small and can be a little tricky to manage while holding your child.
-the packaging doesn't make this any easier. The method to get the tablets from the cardboard container isn't the easiest to work with.
-the packaging could be 1/5 the size it currently is and still use too much material.
-50 tablets may seem like a small number, but when the instructions call for one every four hours, it's easy to see how 50 of these will last longer than 125 Hyland's. So while they may cost twice as much as Hyland's, they could very well last twice as long, if not longer.

All the remedies are conveniently held inside the box, in alphabetical order so its easy to find the remedy you need. The booklet that comes with is also alphabetized (by remedy and symptom in the index) which makes it even easier to use when you've got two sick little ones on your hands.
For those that are new to homeopathy and considering purchasing a home kit, Hyland's is my personal preference. If you have younger children you may prefer Hyland's over other brands as their tablets disolve much quicker than the others, which is a plus with children. There is no nasty taste (the only 'taste' is a hint of sweetness, beyond that, nothing). The remedies work! In the last two months we've gone through a stomach bug and the flu in our house and the homeopathic remedies have dramatically shortened the length of the illness as well as helped my children feel more comfortable while their immune systems did the rest.
