With the crappy doctors down in Florida where he lives (most from U of Fl Medical school -- which tells you how good they are) , it went undiagnosed. Our relationship began only 4 years ago. The area I live in has one of the leading medical centers in the country. Being an obsessive medical and health person I persisted in finding a diagnosis -- it was finally diagnosed as peripheral neuropathy. I had my partner fully tested by one of hate leading experts in the area -- which rule out any of the known causes -- such as diabetes.
He has been suffering from stabbing pains and burning feet that reached a point that he was unable to sleep at night constantly being woken up by this.
We have been putting him on a number of medications to deal with it -- ultimately after a couple of years settling on a combination of Neurontin and Lyrica.
Though that reduced significantly the level of pain, it still range in the 4-7 level out of 10. We added nightly does of Ibuprofen with his keeping extra capsules by his bed to take when he wakes in the middle of the night when the pain level rises to 6 or 7 again. But the pain level never got down much below 4.
My partner has developed Parkinson's in the last couple of years and so he is on medication for that as well.
I convey all this to let the reader know how truly awful my partner's daily and nightly life is. Though he is very stoic and uncomplaining -- the suffering I see in his eyes just compels me to search more and read more to find out what can help.
I came upon this product purely by accident while looking for some homeopathic remedies for the Parkinson's to supplement his prescription medication.
We tried it for the first time yesterday before he took a nap. When he woke up he came to me excitedly and said he felt absolutely nothing -- it took me a sec to realize what he was saying. The pain was gone -- not down to 4 or 3 but zero. He said he had the best sleep he has had in years.
The absence of pain wore off after a few hours but we put the cream on again. It doesn't work right away, it takes a bit but repeatedly his pain level has gone down to zero.
His sleep has improved and so has his alertness. I know this is just 2 days worth of experiment -- but the transformation in him is remarkable. Some of his cognitive functioning that has been impaired by the Parkinson's has started coming back -- not a cure but not as bad as it has been for months. Some of the cognitive impairment caused by Parkinson's is really caused by major depression it triggers. (He is on special antidepressants for that.) But being relieved of the constant pain and getting restful sleep has done a lot right away.
SO we are about to order a lot of this. I also got some of the regular cream because I have started to experience arthritis in certain places. I haven't used it yet -- can't comment on the difference between the two and whether it is worth the money.
Frankly right now I don't care. To see my partner more relaxed and pain free -- even though it is not continuous -- feels like a miracle to me.
I hope others who try this get the same relief we have experienced.
