Duofilm Liquid Salicylic Acid Wart Remover - 1/3 Oz Review

Duofilm Liquid Salicylic Acid Wart Remover - 1/3 Oz
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This stuff is great! After trying several other over the counter wart removers, my child's pediatrician recommended Duofilm, since the freezing wasn't doing the job either. This wart was stubborn. I wanted my child's wart removed before school started and I started applying this about 2 weeks prior to that day. I did what the other reviewer did by peeling off the layers with tweezers every other day and I couldn't believe my eyes! The wart was finally going away after trying so many products. When school started, my child only had a little dot there and was feeling very confident. I put the Duofilm on in the morning and just before bedtime. It comes with little patch covers but they didn't stay on so I just got some clear band-aids to cover the area while it healed. The applicator tip is just a plastic tip that you drop the Duofilm from. There are no brushes that get hard or droppers that get clogged. You just remove the top which holds the applicator, wait for it to stop dripping and then just drop some on top of the wart. Very simple!!
The bottle 1/3 FL OZ is plenty and will last a really long time because expiration is in 2 years. I barely used a fourth of the bottle. Hopefully we won't have any more warts reappear but if they do, then I will tackle them with Duofilm. The ingredients are Salicyclic acid 17% w/w, alcohol 18% v/v, and ether 53% v/v. Hope this helps you make your decision because I did the same thing by looking at the reviews and being very skeptical. I figured it didn't cost that much so here goes nothing. That nothing turned into success and a happy child who didn't have to hear classmates asking, "What's that?!"

Compound W One Step Plantar Pads, Wart Remover 20 ea Review

Compound W One Step Plantar Pads, Wart Remover 20 ea
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
When I saw this, it seemed like the greatest idea--a strong, over-the-counter wart remover that came in the form of a bandage, so not only was the wart sealed, but the medicine was sealed in too!
Well, the pad isn't very flexible and it doesn't stick very well either. So if you were planning on wearing shoes or taking a shower or going swimming, forget about the pad. I'm sure the medicine is strong, but it doesn't really get a chance to apply itself.
Compound W is probably the best over-the-counter wart remover on the market, this just isn't their best product. I would recommend the "Fast Acting Gel" to get rid of your common or plantar warts. It takes time, but really works. It's worth the $5-$6 to try to avoid freezing off your wart. Plus, you can apply the exact amount to the precise area needed. And if you're worried about embarassing stuff, you can always cover the area with a good old fashioned band-aid.

Dr. Scholl's Clear Away Liquid Wart Remover System, 0.33 fl oz Review

Dr. Scholl's Clear Away Liquid Wart Remover System, 0.33 fl oz
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
When our pediatrician diagnosed plantar's warts (a growth that makes the foot"print" disappear in that spot), he suggested Dr. Scholl's liquid wart remover, as opposed to other brands or methods. He said you should be sure no extra liquid is on the applicator because you want to cover only the wart - nothing more, nothing less - or it won't work right. Use it twice per day and it may take 2-6 weeks, he said. And then there's only a 70% chance of it working. My teen used it for a few weeks and the first wart did come off, but another one was underneath. So now we're working on that one. Don't know if this virus goes away or if it will be a problem off and on for a long, long time. Hope to find out at the next check-up. So, this seems like it's working; it definitely has a quick affect on a wart but it takes a while for real results. It is much better than nothing - there is no known cure.
Update since check-up: I didn't ask about long-term recurrence. The doctor realized when he saw peeling on the foot that the liquid was getting on surrounding skin and drying it out. He said to try again, being sure to cover ONLY the wart. Healthy skin is needed around the wart for this to work. He said if it doesn't solve the problem in eight weeks, he would refer to a podiatrist. He also suggested before every application to clean the foot, soak in an Epsom salt bath, dry thoroughly(emphasis here), then use the Dr. Scholl's liquid wart remover. Within two weeks of applying the wart remover as directed by the pediatrician, it worked!! No more warts!!

The clear adhesive sections make these wart remover strips very inconspicuous. I would highly recommend these over the liquid applicators. Not to mention, you can get the 3 pack on Amazon for $20 while just one pack in the store is over half that.

Dr. Scholl's Clear Away Wart Remover Medicated Disks, Plantar for Feet, 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 3)
Average Reviews:

I had a wart on my foot for a while hoping that the "duct tape" remedy would work. After a few months I decided I should try something else, so I picked up these. I was skeptical at first since warts are supposedly hard to remove without harsh chemicals or treatments, but these did in fact work!
I kept the medical disks on my foot for about 12-14 days, replacing it (and the "cushioned" covering) every day. The covering seemed like it wouldn't stay on throughout the day, but it actually holds up pretty well and never came off throughout the day. I was especially surprised since my wart was in such a weird spot (right on the top of my 2nd toe). After the 12-14 days my wart simply scrubbed off when I was cleaning it one day, now the area is healing back up nicely. There was very minimal, if any, discomfort when using these. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a cheaper, and just-as-effective solution to get rid of a wart.

Compound W Freeze Off 8 ea Review

Compound W Freeze Off 8 ea
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had two warts on my index finger for 7 years, and I only focused on getting rid of the largest one. I must have very stubborn warts because I tried this product, duct tape, the liquid wart remover, and the black dots. I tried the Freeze Off maybe twenty times, and each time the wart returned a little larger than before. I got more aggressive with the treatments, and the last time I left the Freeze Off applicator on my wart for 2 minutes using a double dose of the freezing solution. I had to hold ice on my finger for a couple of hours to relieve the pain. Two weeks later, I peeled off the dried up blister and repeated the painful process. I thought I had done permanent damage to my finger it hurt so badly. But a month later, everything looked fine and my wart returned in the shape of a "C", which meant I at least did some damage to one side of my wart. Before I tried it again, my niece told me she tried a home remedy of apple cider vinegar applied to her wart with a cotton ball held in place with a bandaid each night for a week. I tried it, and MY WARTS ARE GONE. My son tried it too (He's had his warts for 9 years.), and his warts are now gone as well. Who knew apple cider vinegar would work better than all these expensive wart removal products? The apple cider did irritate my wart, then turned it white, then turned it purple, then it eventually peeled off. Amazing!!!! I just wanted someone out there to know.

Compound W Freeze Off Plantar 8 applications kit Review

Compound W Freeze Off Plantar 8 applications kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The tips get very very cold. I am a MD and used this to treat my warts by myself. After 2 treatments, my warts were gone. Hurts like crazy as I froze the warts for about 1-1.5 minutes each, but it worked VERY well. Don't believe the negative reviews. This uses the same technology that you would get from a Dermatologist, and for me it costs less than one co-pay at a doctor's office. Dermatologists will minimally treat your warts so you have to keep coming back to see them. Plus, if a patient get a large blister from a treatment (which you should get if done properly), most people would bitch and moan that their doctor caused harm. When in actuality, you have to freeze all the surrounding tissue to effectively kill the warts as well, and this WILL cause a localized blister. I caused two blisters over each wart, and I had them gone in two weeks. I would have easily spent a couple hundred dollars in co-pays had I seen a Dermatologist.

PediFix Wart STICK Review

PediFix Wart STICK
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
OK, this stuff works great because it's very strong. I had a wart on my hands that was there for YEARS and not it's gone. I even had my doctor freeze it twice and it still didn't go away. This stuff got rid of it in about 15 days.
HERE'S THE TIP:
The key is to isolate the wart so the medication doesn't affect the good skin. This is especially important for small warts.
Tip #1: Take a large plastic bandage (not fabric), and cut off the two sticky sides and throw away the padded portion in the middle. Take one of the sticky sides (save the other one for later) and with the backing still on it and fold it into four (half and half again). Now cut the center corner off to make a small hole in the middle - you want the hole just a tiny bit bigger than the wart. Then unfold it, take the backing off, and apply it on your wart with the wart sticking out of the hole. Now you can apply a big glob of the Wart Stick medication and you wont have to worry about it killing the surrounding good skin. Apply an second full bandage on top of the medication and you're good to go.
Tip #2: Make sure you apply the medication after a shower when the skin is soft and more penetrable.
Tip#3: If you have a stubborn wart, do it in intervals. Apply the medication for 2-3 days, then leave it uncovered and unmedicated for a day or two so it can harden and peel off. Then repeat. My stubborn wart took three rounds but with some patience, it did finally go away.

I bought this formula for our 4 year old daughter who seemed to "wait too long" to go to the bathroom, resulting in many changes of clothes thought the day. I was almost at the point of bribing her with stickers for every time she listened to what her body was saying when I thought of giving homeopathy a try. I gave it to her twice and she woke the next morning dry. She took it 3 more times the next day and had ZERO accidents at preschool. We didn't tell her what it was for. Clearly her body reacted strongly and positively to this medicine and has corrected the imbalance that has been present that not even she could detect. Lovely, safe, glorious homeopathy.

Compound W Wart Remover, Maximum Strength, Fast-Acting Gel, 0.25-Ounce (Pack of 2) Review

Compound W Wart Remover, Maximum Strength, Fast-Acting Gel, 0.25-Ounce (Pack of 2)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the second time I've used Compound W to remove warts... the first time was years ago to kill one that the doctors had tried twice to remove. I went well beyond the recommended dosage and managed to (with some pain) remove a wart that had come back multiple times to a much larger size than the original... It took a couple of weeks of applications but it removed a horrible wart and it never came back.
This time I got two little warts the size of a bb... took both of them out in 3 days... I don't expect them to come back but if they do I'll just apply more.
The application seems to be a combination of acid and a glue-like sealant that covers the wart while the acid desolves it. It turns the wart hard and brittle, then it just falls off. Good stuff! No pain on the little ones simply applying twice a day.

I have used the strips, and the liquid Compound W wart remover, but the gel form is overall better. The gel can be applied precisely, and it stays on longer compared to the strips or liquid (bottle with brush). I wish I would've purchased the gel from the beginning.
If you are embarrassed by you're warts, just apply the gel, let it dry, and then cover it up with a bandage.

The stuff works, and I heard that the smell was really bad, but not much worse than other products I've used. It does just what is says, but for some reason, after several uses, the liquid gelled up on me and I couldn't apply it anymore. I made sure the top was tightly closed, so I don't know what happened. The stuff works, but I think the gel compound w is a better bet.
